Fuckbox 360

im guessing by reading every post this is for ONLINE freezing?
thank god i dont play online! :nanner:

I've found if I play a game constantly it tends to freeze up once in a while.

I've had Saints Row 2 freeze up on me after playing it constantly day after day for a long while. I've had Fallout 3 do the same. It might be from dust possibly collecting or something and with not having a disc change.... I don't know. I noticed after I opened up the tray and either put a new game in or put it back in it does not do that any more.

You might have a much larger issue compared to mine. Sounds similar in nature.

I don't know though.

what the fuck you lookin at?
I cleared the cache and used a lens cleaner. Seems to be working fine now. Though I guess only time will tell.

The Xbox fanboys are queued 24/7 365. The ps3 ones just come out when someone causes a rukus....

Is that what this is divulging into? I honestly don't care which side anyone is on, the fanboyism is stupid. I like both systems, but from my experience here, the PS3 fanboys are a much more vocal and degrading bunch on here.

I don't care who makes the console as long as the games are good. I have or have had consoles from all the major players except Microsoft and I have had the urge lately to get a Xbox 360. I just hope they got the red ring of death under control. It is sort of funny that so many not only on here but other sites complain about how their Xbox 360 and PS3 give problems within a year. I still have a Gamecube and Dreamcast that work great even after having them for as many years as I have.

That's primarily because those entire systems have the hardware sophistication of a single chip in the 360/PS3.

True but the disc reader in those older systems seems to last longer.

Again, that's because the current generation of consoles is more complex. It's like saying people have more problems with USB drives than they used to with floppy disks. While that may be true, one is more complex and is bound to have more potentially go wrong.

I agree and that would be fine if consoles did not cost so much now. It seems like a letdown to spend that much and have the laser keep burning out. I lurk at some video game forums and some of the people there are on the 4th and 5th replacement.

I would typically agree with you, but that's the nature of the beast. Even if you consider computers in general, the computers today have a much higher failure rate of individual parts then back in the early days of computers. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again: the more complex a computer architecture is, the more likely that something inside it will fail at some point.

Just like cars.

Well taken care of cars from the 60's are still on the road with original parts.Cars nowadays break down over the littlest bullshit, and they are supposed to be new.But just like you said, more complex parts leads to higher failure rates.

Exactly. Scary how similar they are, isn't it?

I never made the connection till just now. Hell you could pick up an old NES or atari and open er up, blow the dust off everything and chances are good she'd still run like new! Old cars same way, clean em up, maybe replace a few minor things and viola, runs like new.

They also just don't make shit the way they used to.

I'm on my second 360, the first I broke open and tried to fix it myself but it all turned to shit. After Mass Effect 2 kept freezing every 10 minutes, I just didn't enjoy the story anymore. I only rent games now, to see if they will work fine on my 360, the games that freeze seem to be completely random. Even if they are similar engines or whatever.

buy a new hardrive - there are loads available on online sellers or at most game shops

That really has no bearing on his console freezing, that's pretty much all on the other hardware.
