Well that was posted in 2006 so maybe this time someone will think about doing one.

we had chat once. Or rather a thread that doubled as a chat room. M12 remembers it I'm sure, as does slowhand and I bet squallumz, fresno and mini D can remember it. But super mod deleted it one night in a fit of unjustifiable rage against certain individuals on this board. Now we're left with that bullshit Random Statement II fuck thread.
I think it would be awesome. I'd definitely use it, chat rooms are so much more interactive than forums. It would definitely be a lot of work for the mods to make it stable and spammer proof, but I'm sure the necessary software is easily available for download. Perhaps as additional security a few more of the respected members of the board could be given admin status in the room, but that does run the risk of power-tripping. Sounds stupid I know, but I've seen plenty of ban-happy admins in chat rooms. I adminned in a couple of rooms for a while and I never felt the need to ban anyone.
I know there's been a heap of times when I've posted in a thread just minutes before or after someone who, if they were in the chat room, I would definitely stop to say G'day to.

That's why there is yahoo MSN and AIM is for.
You can only talk to a certain amount of people in an MSN message, it's not a chat room. A chat room is when you can have lots of people all talking instantly at the same time.
As much as I'd love to talk to some of the guys instantly on this forum, I probably wouldn't want them on my MSN... I keep that for my actual friends and other people I know.
Couldn't we all just high jack another existing chat room and "call it our own"? That way, Freeones would not be officially attached to it, no need for extra policing.
That thought crossed my mind. Or anyone here who has the time and hardware to dedicate could easily host one. I seriously lack the former.
For those who are interested, I have set up a website with a chatroom especially for freeones members to use.
There is a short joining application, but it is a legitimate site, set up and run by myself.
I don't know how good or effective the chat capabilities are, but give it a try.

Nothing has changed. Freeones is not going to have chat rooms. In the event that Admin decides to create chat rooms, I'm sure they will let us know. But until then, this is a closed subject as has been stated in previous threads about the matter.
Remember there is a section in your profile for adding your ICQ #, Aim screen name, MSN, Yahoo, and Skype.
