Damn! I was just talking about this guy the other day. A lot of my favorite old school guys are passing on. Merlin Olsen died in March, Gene Upshaw died last year, and now the Assassin, Jack Tatum. One of the most feared and dangerous men to have ever set foot on the gridiron. It is a shame that he was basically labeled a dirty player for jacking fools up. Some of the nastiest hits I have ever seen were Jack Tatum hits. People seem to not get it through their heads that he was playing in an era were football was football. There were not all of these soft ass rules around that prevented you from knocking the chocolate out of folks, namely the quarterback. He will be missed by hard core football fans. Wide receivers of today don't know what fear is. Back in the day, defenses didn't fuck around. Just ask Lynn Swann.
