Food delivery apps-Good service or scam?

I have been thinking about using some of these food delivery apps like Uber Eats or DoorDash.I am very hesitant after reading the very many negative comments regarding people who have used the service in the App Store.
Some of the comments are very detailed and downright funny.Some of the common complaints are food arriving late,orders being cancelled with no reason given,impossible to get in touch with someone at company when there is a problem with your order and drivers getting lost and suspicion that drivers ate some of the food.
Anyone on here use these apps and what has been your experience using them?
Good or bad.Do you recommend using them?

I tried it once and had lunch delivered at work. No complaints.

And you can always ask the driver if they ate any of your food (in a non-accusatory way of course).

My lil opinion, and tons of experience with 'em, as a cook:
Companies that dont give out their number for easy access = garbage

Drivers are all stoners driving around in a beater, and dont care for your food like an actual.. employed.. person.. would.. = Is my food missing? DUH.

If you are lucky, you'll get the same guy every time. He drives a nice car. He is 10 minutes early. He is middle aged. GOOD.

If you arent, you'll get that kid trying to eke out a few extra bucks in his volvo so he can pay for his political sciences degree. But his car didnt start up 2 outta the last 5 days. SOo......yeah. BAD.

Woman driver? Takes a strange way to get to you cuz they dont know the streets.. (Watch the app and see where they are at. EVERY TIME THEY TAKE THE 'easiest' GPS ROUTE! Not the best.) Tries to tell you the app says the tip isnt included. So you give them a paper tip... which cant be proven.. so even if you pitch a shit-fit, they still got that paper. Meanwhile the credit card tip is just icing on the cake, if you dont feel like calling. Slick bitches.

Male driver? Asshole. Didnt qualify for uber so now does the food driving thing. Wearing basketball shorts. Fake smiles.
