Well, here we are. Since we left in 2013, the last 17 months have brought us many new things: a new PM here in Australia, new Russian borders, and a new Miss FreeOnes contest. It's hard to tell which of the 3 will end up pissing off more people. Regardless, after being repeatedly poked with a stick, I'm back again to cover it all for you.
What's different?
Needless to say, the 2013 Miss FreeOnes left a lot of disappointment and ill feelings; however, there have been a lot of changes that will hopefully make this year's contest better. The Best Euro Babe category is gone, but in its place are Best MILF and Most Underrated. Additionally, we've gained votes, but we can only vote for each contestant once regardless of category, and with what seems like a massively increased field of competition, this makes each vote in each category matter a lot more. Finally, with the voting weights being changed, there's a greater change that- as many, including myself, have hoped- board members will have increased clout.
What to watch.
- With the contest being reformatted, it will be interesting to see how everyone, voters and contestants, react to the changes. Getting one vote per contestant will definitely change voting styles and, for the contestants, could lead to category specialization.
- As the actual votes will be updated and posted more frequently than in years past, this could help to drive new voting trends.
- Much like any other year, it will be sad and a little depressing to see the lengths that jitna will go to for Harley Spencer. icardfacepalm:
- Having such a large number of contestants in the initial round, could the possible influx and dispersion of the votes dilute support for some well-known names? It will be interesting to see who can cobble together enough support from all corners to advance through the rounds.
Who I'll be following (and supporting).
One thing this contest isn't lacking is choice. That being said, my eyes have gone cross trying to figure out who to follow and who to support. While I haven't fully figured it out a top 20 and I'm not certain what categories, there are some for whom I'm always proud to support: these are the contestants that always shine during Miss FreeOnes. In no certain order:
1. Miss Hybrid
2. Lolita Borgia
3. Jaana Ruutu
4. Bella Bellini
5. Briana Lee
6. Jane Burgess
7. Maggie Green
8. Mandy Flores
9. Lacey Black
10. Aeryn Walker
11. Clayra Beau
12. Samantha Wise
13-20. These are still up for grabs. Any Suggestions?
As always, all comments, questions, and commentaries are appreciated.
