I realize that this is late and a long time coming; however, even though things outside of freeOnes have kept me far too busy recently, I would like to offer some closing statements on Miss FreeOnes 2014.
Overall, I really don't think that any of us could ask for better than to have our own Miss Hybrid representing us as Miss FreeOnes 2014. Truly, she represents all that we like and enjoy about FreeOnes overall as well as this board community, and, after such disappointment last year among her fans (myself included), it is more than vindication- it is fitting that she win. Beyond just winning and becoming Miss FreeOnes, Miss Hybrid is truly a talent: many of us "old-timers" have witnessed her climb through the ranks, through Euro Babe and Best OCSM, to reach the top of a competition that can and has been, at times, very fickle and very unjust. So, full props to you Miss Hybrid, nobody is more deserving of this honour than you.
Beyond just Miss Hybrid and Siri finishing in the top 2 positions of Miss FreeOnes, which is a great representation for the board community, I must admit that I'm glad to see that the non-OCSMs and faux OCSMs weren't able to disrupt things. Still though, there were some damn good board contributors who didn't even make it to the final round, which is a shame; however, you can't win them all, and I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who posted on this thread or on the board during the contest, your contributions truly make the contest infinitely better.
By far, Best Cam Girl was truly brutal: many of us realized that, from the first day or so, this was going to be a contest between Maggie Green and Briana Lee. Throughout the contest, both contestants proved to be top-notch, and though there can only be 1 winner, I think both did an absolutely amazing job of exciting their fan base and attracting new fans through beautiful, stunning, and innovate contributions to the board.
Going into Adult Model this year, Andi Land was always the favourite, and it's not hard to understand why. Though this was really her first year of coverage/participation in my thread, she more than confirmed the reputation that has driven her to multiple Adult Model titles- she really is fantastic and a class act.
Speaking of Best Adult Model, though it was, in and of itself, a very respectable result, it was unfortunate (personally) to see that my perennial favourite, Lolita Borgia, was in 4th place. Though I'll always be proud to be counted among her supporters, I think it's about time that she gets the respect and recognition- on and off of the board- that she deserves. (Come on people! The cheeky ball gag video alone should've at least guaranteed 2nd place!)
With a well-founded reputation on the board as well as the blessing of Miss Hybrid, it's no surprise that Mandy Flores is the Best OCSM. While most of the OCSMs take pains to balance posting and communicating here with the rest of their schedule, it takes someone truly unique to capture the long-tern attention of enough board members in order to be a true force in this category. Mandy Flores has definitely done this and it's fantastic to finally see her efforts rewarded.
Maybe now that Harley Spencer has won the Most Underrated category, she won't be so "underrated."
Regardless, good on you, Harley, and I'm mostly sure that jitna hasn't stopped smiling yet!
Again, I'm a little sorry that I didn't pay more attention to the MILF and Newcomer category, but there wasn't enough time to cover everything fully (unless FreeOnes is willing to fully or in part fund my board-related activities *hint hint*). That being said, I found it to be a little depressing that so many in the Newcomer category weren't willing to make their presence known via the board, which would've proven to be an invaluable resource both this year and in future contests.
Now that it's over, I have to think of and view this year's contest as being a complete success. (Of course, it wasn't what I would consider to be perfect; then again, until they give me full and complete control over the contest, I'm not sure that I'll think that any version of the contest if perfect.
) That being said, I do think there is still room for improvement. For example, I can understand the logic behind passively adding all active entertainers to the voting rolls in order to increase voting choices among the community; however, I feel that, by removing the more active contestant signing-up process, you're unnecessarily watering down the competition by inviting contestants who don't necessarily know about FreeOnes or want to have a part of the FreeOnes community, which is detrimental to the overall contest. Still, especially after last year, I think that, thankfully, the worries of cheating and vote fraud have largely been put to rest, and it was mildly refreshing to not have to deal with much contest-related drama.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who took the time and made the effort to visit this threat, post on this thread, or read this thread. Your consideration and participation is what keeps me coming back to do this year after year. Thank you!
As always, all comments, questions, and commentaries are appreciated.
