people in water at a temperature above boiling and wondering why someone died...oh humanity you stun me again
Well you guys haven`t ever been in a sauna, right?
I have been in a sauna at above 100c temperature many times. It`s hot for sure, but not that impossibly hot as you may think if you`ve never done that.
That 110c is not anywhere near the hottest you can do if you`re hard enough, but this sauna was specially designed to make it feel more severe than normally. The idea was to make the competitors to get out of there quicker to avoid any problems that may occur if you sit in such temperature for too long. Well, looks like it still wasn`t enough in this case.
In the day before the finals this Russion guy had been caught for having some kind of lotion in his skin that made it easier to sit there, i.e.he didn`t feel pain as much as others. Because it`s not very serious sport he was allowed take part in the final day(but ofcourse they made very sure that he didn`t have anything on his skin this time).
Now there`s been speculations that he may have eaten some kind of painkillers and that`s why things got this far. It wasn`t meant to be very serious event and organizer hadn`t probably thought that someone might do something like that.
