I noticed small details in 'Kingdom Of Heaven' that truly were inspiring. The lighting in that film, the layout of the city wall, were mystical. Afterwards I also remember wondering whether we would see Eva Green again. Fortunately, thanks to Daniel Craig's recommendation she co-starred in hs first Bond movie.

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
Eastern Promises was the best movie in the past five years.

YES

11:14
Equilibrium
In Bruges
8 Legged Freaks (it's a campy, cheesy and FUN throwback to classic monster flicks)
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
Dog Soldiers
Bad Moon

Chronicles Of Riddick/Pitch Black didn't do too well either, did they? My favorite sci-fi series:D

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Once Upon a Time in America.

It had a Who's Who cast and a brilliant script, direction, camera work and musical score. But it bombed in the U.S.

persona non grata
Dogville
In The Valley of Elah

Heat and Memento come to mind. Both pretty much came and went as far as box office goes. It was only until after Heat came to VHS (remember it came out in 1995), and Memento to DVD that they got some sort of popularity despite being good movies.

John Carpenter's The Thing wasn't too popular either upon it's debut. Since everyone generally preferred E.T. But it's certainly appreciated these days.

A couple of David Mamet films come to mind. Homicide and House of Games. Also thought Tommy Lee Jones' The Three Burials of Melequiades Estrada was pretty good.

That Melequiades Estrada movie was pretty good. If you like David Mamet check out Edmond, it wasn't directed by him but it was a play written by him that was adapted to fit the screen. It is goooooood! :1orglaugh

Grimey...saw Edmond. William H. Macy was very good ( and was in every set). Pretty violent and realistic...good choice!
