That remake was actually good, no? Not better than the 1956 original version but... as much good?

Well no lol.The original is a classic and the remake is ok but doesn't begin to compare, but thats just my opinion. There haven't been actors like those in the 50s,maybe 60s and before since IMO.I guess I am into old stuff and nostalgia lol, feel the same way about TV and music. Its like when I read in a thread here about a possible remake of the classic sci-fi "Forbidden Planet" I was like who is going to play the part Walter Pidgeon played.I can't think of any actor of today who is even 1/2 as good.Told somebody maybe Morgan Freeman is about the closest and Denzel can play the Leslie Neilsen part.Where are the good white actors?:dunno::1orglaugh

BRB with a post.

go easy FOMM remember

I'm in that minding as well, Friday. I guess i have a weak spot for the version with Donald Sutherland as i saw it, when i was a kid, before i saw the original... :)

I know what you mean, what you grew up with and saw always has a special place.I'm a liitle old (born in 1957) so thats what I grew up seeing on TV. I went to see the original on the big screen (had only seen it on TV) about 15 years ago at the Museum of Modern art in NYC who was showing in the theatre they have.

I agree totally with your view on Forbidden Planet. Its disgraceful, they are going to butcher a good movie because executives cant be bothered with new ideas anymore they're to hard. Remakes are easier.
