I'd like to make a suggestion regarding the Rep system. :2 cents:
I don't rep much in fact hardly ever and when i do most of the time I get the message "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to XXXXXXXX again", this happens because the people who deserve it are mainly the regular posters and it gets right on my tits when i can't rep good work or a funny post or as an award for winning SOTW for example.

I know this limitation was to prevent the same people repping the same people in a clicky kind of gang way but the enviroment has changed now... we all know the rep system to many is a joke anyway, alot of people giving rep out randomly to whoever, so whats the point?

The limitation now is only limiting those who still want to rep someone for something noteworthy. The rep system for me is a quick way of saying "great work" or something like that. Please please take off the shackles:hatsoff:

I usually use the Rep system as a short quick PM, i think the actually "points system" should be destroyed, that way it wouldn't matter if you repped the same person over and over again.

Aye, I usually rep someone when I want to reply to his post but it has nothing to do with the thread.
A good solution might be to make your rep not appear in each and every post and only in your profile, that way less people will care about it and we could rep people as we pleased. This system worked in other forums I've been on, same could be done with psot count but we don't have a spamming problem.

I agree with you both.
I use the rep feature the same way, personally i'm not too bothered if points are given or not or where they are seen, and some may say that "you have the pm function, so whats the problem"
My issue is that when i want to rep someone (ie make a comment for whatever purpose) i want to be able to do it without restrictions. The reasons that the restriction is in place originally seems invalid now.

i agree too. get rid of the numbers. or at least (someone mentioned this before and i cant remember who) make it so the post games section doesnt count, just like post count.

How does it count in games? You mean people get repped for games? Or are you referring to the rep club and above stuff? I agree that shouldn't count.

Oh I mean, when you rep someone in post games, it wouldn't add to their total (it does now), just like it doesn't add to your post count. Since those are just games, many of them designed to bolster rep. But I don't really care, it was just a suggestion for those who do care about rep being meaningful/meaningless.

I know what you meant. I meant "people rep people " for playing games? I have never done that. I thought you meant the rep above you and club. I think its something all of us just shouldn't do. We aren't ********, FreeOnes shouldn't have to block it.

I think maybe i have been missunderstood, i shall give an example of what i'd like to do....
I would like to use the rep feature now to rep Fox for example, i am unable to do this because i have to spread rep around first, this is my problem.

As we all know the rep system is not what it was, and there is no reason i can see that the repping restriction is still in place. To be able to rep as and when and to who i see deserves it would i feel make use of a great feature.

So i ask again can we open up the frequency restriction on repping members!

On a side note, i don't rep to hand out a number but i don't mind the fact points are given, if the points are not given in the POST Games section of the boards then thats another thread to discuss... i would go along with it myself.:hatsoff:

No need to shout. I would have read post. I only posted to Foxes comment anyway. They I'm sure won't do that. Then friends only rep friends to get outlandish #'s "faster". I say faster because many do it at the slow pace it moves now.

I will admit there are a few people who I consider as "revolving rep recievers" from me. I rep them when I can, just because I can! These are limited to only a few members. I do play the rep game once in awhile. But I don't rep people just to spread rep. I did once a few months ago, don't remember why. But for the most part I save it for posts that I feel deserver rep or as a quick PM when it's available.

All in all I don't really couldn't care less about the numbers when i stop to think about it!

Why not just abolish the rep entirely? How does it possibly affect your life in the slightest? I would rather post in a thread showing support for a members post as opposed to sending a rep comment or a PM.

Its a good way of giving a personal comment to another member, it prevents spamming the boards with congrats comments all the time so getting rid of it entirely is not a good idea at all.

The rep button could be used as a useful feature if the frequency restriction was disabled.

The reps was getting to the millions, it was only a matter of a month or so until we would all have over 1 billion rep. It's lost all meaning.
