Festival of Lights

Since a couple years, every year in october the Festival of Lights takes place in Berlin. During this festival many famous bulidings are illuminated with lasers and projectors.

I think some other cities are doing this as well.

Unfortunately most of this year's illuminations are rather poor. I was really looking forward to the Oberbaumbrücke (a famous bridge), the Siegessäule (victory column) and the TV Tower, but those really didn't look look as spectecular as last year.
They just had some lame ass laser shows on them. Or in case of the TV Tower just had very few lights. They weren't all illuminated like last year.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it too these places last year, because I either had to work or I've been too lazy. But you can see some pics from the last couple of years and find more info on the festival here:

Here are some pics I took tonight though: (Please mind, that I'm not a very experienced photographer and I don't have a high class camera. So they're more snaphots if you will.)

The TV Tower

The Oberbaumbrücke (See just a few lazer pics on top. Look at the festival site for awesome pics from last year of this bridge)

The Brandenburg Gate

The Berlin Cathedral

The world famous Adlon hotel

And last, but not least, my beloved Siegessäule (victory column) - See again just those lame ass lazer shows....Awesome pics from last year on the festival site again though.

I'll try to take some more pics of other buildings in the next couple of days since it's still going until sunday.

Btw unfortunately the US embassy doesn't participate this year due to this shutdown thing. :(

The madhouse actually lets you out at night? :surprise:
They forgot to lock the gate. :suspicious:

Anyway, best lightshow ever was probably started by emperor Nero in Rome. They're still talking about it. Not that I want to give you any ideas or anything Mr. Loony
I would never ruin beautiful architecture. :shy:

Funny thing I thought about changing my name to something with Loony. :D
