Female reading the Tiger Woods thread has a question boys!

OK! question for all U guys! From a female reading the Tiger Woods thread.

Situation! You are a pro golfer, NFL, NBA, MLB player etc by 21-22....or made your money like Trump by 30 or any tycoon you want to name. So your are worth $$,$$$,$$$. You are a big star not a 100k bench warmer or third rate salesman.... freaking RICH.

1. You're 20 something:D
2. Decent looking (at least 5+/10):)
3. Know hot women will be all over you 24/7 No matter what:rolleyes:
4. Could still easily marry by 40+;) (10-15 years of hot lovin' relations before then.)

Why the F--- do you get married?.....Do not say for love unless you can really lay it out.

Would you marry, be honest!....WHY? Cause I'm thinking many of these guys are dumb. And from what I know (cheating) it's WIDESPREAD and some maybe never got caught. Explain?

You forgot possible alcohol induced flirting which leads to cheating....but it's a two way street T/G....why the F--- would a chick marry a guy like you describe???

As someone who has taken great satisfaction in Tiger's troubles (schadenfreude), I will give you the honest answer.

Marriage is a social norm. Rich and powerful men (and women) are expected to marry. I think wealth and power corrupt and men lose focus that there ARE limits even on them. Rich and Powerful people get comfortable living beyond the law or beyond the practicalities of common people, and they lose sight that they have to answer to someone--a wife.

Once women start to attain power and wealth in similar manner like Tiger Woods or NFL/NBA athletes, will we see the same behavior out of them? :dunno: Or will the maternal instinct keep women "loyal" to the marriage?

In sum, a typical marriage probably will never exist anymore in contemporary society for the extreme wealthy/powerful.

Er, maybe you found the woman that you would like to have children with or a woman that it would crush your insides to think of in the arms of another.

Spleen

Banned?
I'd go fucking mental.

I'd settle down eventually, but for a while I'd play the game. Crash my car. Etc.

As a male, I'm just really sick of hearing about this Tiger Woods thing or the Salahaiahaiahs crashing a party or any of this other crap. Last night I was watching the news and they spent 7 seconds on Obama sending 30,000 people over to Afghanistan and about 45 minutes on Tiger and the two douchers. Please just go away!!!!!!

1. Happens all the time...you know it. I know girls that stay w/men that beat them up.

2. Never said everyone wants to (or will) fuck around. But how many guys are in that situation...think it out. $$$$$$$$$$ + glamor. Just saying why?

All I'm saying is it's a two way street....someone can't marry you....two people get married.

It would seem to me based on what you lay out...the bigger consideration should be on the part of the potential hurtee as opposed to the hurter when it comes to whether or not getting married is a good idea.

I can tell you though, being a fairly successful man ($$$) while not a painful thing to be is not as easy as people think it is....even if you are attractive to most women beyond your material things and wealth.

The easiest thing to do sometimes is mess around because you never can tell who wants you for just you....including from time to time a wife who marries into your wealth.

So a man could be a complete romantic and want marriage....but there are many dynamics to a successful, faithful marriage no matter what's in your bank account.

Is somewhere outhere.
I guess for some stupid dudes it's like they can have the big cake, and
think they can eat it all too. Then one day they finally get caught
out just like the famous golfer ;) I guess it's the same for all those
other famous motherfuckers who prance around thinking their shit
don't stink :1orglaugh

It's a bad world :2 cents:

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Easy answer.

You want to have kids. You believe that children should be raised in a traditional family unit situation. You meet a girl who would make an ideal mother for your children. She doesn't have any particular interest in what type of activities in which you engage just as long as you keep writing the checks. It's essentially a business arrangement. It works very well and is probably a lot more common than some of us would like to think.

Or....maybe you just end up falling head-over-heels in love with someone just like us everyday blue-collar guys do!

Back to Trinidad Girl original premise... you're rich and famous, would you get married?

Probably not... unless I had an ironclad prenuptual agreement (and even those aren't guaranteed in some cases). I certainly wouldn't want to expose my riches to someone else if things don't work out. Look at Paul McCartney, he got fleeced by Heather Mills and he didn't even fool around.

Hell, these women who marry multi-multi-millionaires have a pretty decent lifestyle... don't have to work, beautiful house, vacations anytime, cars, clothes etc... they should be driving their husbands over to their mistresses house, ask what time the guy needs to be picked up and have dinner ready for him when they get back home. They should be bringing hot chicks to their husbands bedroom if he even asks.

That said, the media coverage is ridiculous on this one... but then again if you can get millions of Americans to watch a balloon float through the sky for hours and pass it off as news, well then the media will run this story for all it's worth. If I'm Tiger Woods, I'd probably never sit down with an interviewer again and just play in the four majors next year.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
My opinion. His manager/agent reminded him that, big companies, that pay out big endorsements, like nice, safe, polite, groomed, non-alcoholic, non-drug addicted, morally upstanding family men. She's hot, young, and they probably got along very well in the beginning, but time wears on, people change, spouses aren't always around, temptation is.

Hands down the biggest reason is so people don't think they're queer. I'm serious about this. It's a big stigma not to have a ring on your finger and a woman who stands by you through everything. The only exception in my opinion is the rare guy who is just a total mans man - picks up ladies like crazy and it's publicly known. I honestly think this is the biggest reason.

It's also part of our (American) society - getting married is just what "normal" people do and it is, therefore, a norm of American culture. What I want to know is, don't guys have any self respect or willpower anymore? My parents have been married damn near 35 years and I respect my dad a helluva lot more than some chum who has 5 children with 5 different ladies, bails on the kids and is never a part of their life. Pathetic shits, those guys are. :hatsoff:

Also keep in mind for a rich athlete there will always be some marketing firm or agent out there whispering in their ears that will try to tell them how much more in endorsements they could potentially make by having a nice regular lifestyle, especially somebody that comes from a sport that doesn’t have a reputation for having wild players. I wouldn't doubt that half of things like that are due to public relation concerns. It's amazing what even alrady rich people will do if it will bring them just a little bit more money, even if they don't need it in any way.

I also think it really is possible that some rich celebrities marry out of love. Some of them might cheat later on for the very reason poorer people cheat.

No matter what my situation is, either pretty spankin' awesome (as you describe) or pretty down and depressing (as it is for me), I could still marry the one girl I love, and ever have loved in my life, any day.

All the four major sports teams come to my town and I can tell you, there are pro athletes seen all over town with their *ahem* "friends.

I've met a couple pro athletes myself at the Mall of America who with some really questionable looking gals before (definitely not their wives). Also a lot of them go to the hottest clubs downtown and have been seen "makin' it rain..." lol.

The majority of those people aren't the ones making millions in endorsement deals.

I've always thought that the goal in life is not go just get the money because that will become boring and unsatisfying after a while.

Instead, I think the goal would be to make the money so you can be prepared when you do find that special girl you want to marry. When you commit to her and only her for the rest of your life, you then have the money to provide a good life for her.

That's the way it SHOULD be done. Unfortunately, most guys do it backwards. They fall in love, get married, then have kids, and then they think they will start advancing in their "career". It doesn't work that way. When they do it that way, they are stuck in a rut with a low paying job that just barely pays the mortgage, car payment, etc.

From there, few guys ever get out of the rut until their kids get older and move out. In the meantime, they have put their wife - the one person in the world they are supposed to love more than any other, through years of drudgery.

So to answer the original question of this thread, I would think high achievement should be the goal first so that you can create a happy, secure life for your wife, your kids, and yourself.
