Federal Court Restricts Taser Use by Police

I would rather be hit with the tazer than shot with the officer's ****** or beaten with the stick! Maybe turn down the voltage to prevent fatalities, I dunno. The tazer is a great idea, just needs to be used PROPERLY.

The police never needed tasers and I knew they would ***** their new toy.

The next step after this is to make sure police are hired that actually have an IQ higher than their show size and can actually catch the criminals they are chasing.

I've no problem with police using tasers when the offender is posing imminent danger to the police, public or themselves (beats shooting them). However in this case couldn't the cop just have chased the woman and overpowered her, I'm sure he never wanted this outcome but I'd **** to see cops avoiding using their muscles simply because a taser is easier, 99% of the time the person will be fine but incidents like this can cost someone their lives over what was probably a ***** offence in the first place. Seeing as she was handcuffed she had no way of putting her arms out as she fell which could've prevented her head injury.

Not at all. Just look at the taser death threads on this site alone.
Also, the fact that most police do not know how to use them.
The police use tasers on ********, the elderly, sick, and any for any reason when they lose their temper.
I agree that there are certainly risks with tasers, but are they not a better solution then guns? Guns wreak havoc on the human body every time, tasers have the possibility of creating complications.
I fully appreciate that epilepsy makes you a lot more susceptible to complications from tasers, but what is a better option?

There are times when it is better to deploy a taser than a handgun. Yes they can be deadly but in a fluidly developing incident, a cop does not have the luxury of asking their target if they have a history of heart problems. As for my own self, if there is a person taking an aggressive stance towards me and is within 15 feet, he's getting zapped. Whether or not he's armed.
While I'm certainly in favor of restraining police from unprovoked taserings, the alternative is to go back to them shooting people they deem a threat. In the vast majority of cases, if people just wouldn't be pricks, this wouldn't be an issue.:dunno:

tasers are a completely legitimate tool to be used by ***************. taking them away from LEO's is foolish, by far. there have been less than 400 deaths due to taser use by LEO's, compared to the much higher number of deaths due to the use of firearms because some retard crackhead decides is a good idea to fight the cop.
more often than not tasers are used because the officer(s) are put up against a person who isnt working at the normal human level due to **** use or other circumstances. said taser deaths are attributed to the body being over taxed. which is too fucking bad.
