Favorite Westerns?

Most of my favorites have been said already, so I'll go with a relatively obscure one: The Wrath of God, starring Robert Mitchum. It was so over the top, it was good.

NEVER liked westerns all that much. But I do enjoy Dead Man even though it's not a traditional western by any stretch of the imagination. The soundtrack really makes the movie though. It's one of the few films that I could listen to without even watching it.

The Outlaw Josey Wales

There were some classic lines:

Jamie: I wish we had time to bury them fellas.
Josey Wales: To hell with them fellas. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms.

Bounty hunter: You're wanted, Wales.
Josey Wales: Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?
Bounty hunter: A man's got to do something for a living these days.
Josey Wales: Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

Would "Deadwood" count??????

- Unforgiven
- The Proposition
- Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
- Django Unchained
- Once Upon a Time in the West
- The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
- The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
- Blazing Saddles
- Dead Man
- True Grit (Coen Brothers)

They don't make movie trailers like this anymore... The music itself is pretty bad ass!

:whip:

I like any Clint Eastwood western but right now I really like the remake of True Grit it's even better than the original.
It's actually not a re-make! It's based off of the book. Sounds the same I know but it's not. The Wayan's brothers I don't think saw the John Wayne movie till after they made their movie. Both movies are stellar!
