Favorite Seasonal Treat

* Fresh, ripe, juicy Alphonso mangoes.

* My wife's "Ground+mashed pulses and buttermilk stew" - I admit this is not "seasonal" but my wife doesn't make it very often, but when she does... boy oh boy! Heaven indeed!

* My wife's home-made butter and cream - she only makes 'em during Christmas/New Year's time. It is completely and utterly unhealthy - especially in terms of cholesterol ... but it's a tradition in our household. Heh! In fact, when my kids were young, we would all sneak into the kitchen when the Little Woman wasn't looking and simply eat handfuls of the thing! :D It annoyed my wife no end (because she'd have to start over) - but dang it, it was so delicious we couldn't stay away!

*sigh* I miss having my kids home :(

cheers,

There is a place near me that makes Apple cider donuts, they are amazing.

Pumpkin pie............. with loads of cool whip on it.

Yep that's one of my favorites as well along with Chocolate covered cherries. I have so many to list.

Oh, Christ, I've been buying six packs of them from the store every 2 or 3 days for the past few weeks. I'm sooooooooooooooooo going to go through withdrawal soon.

Actually...I do. Depending on my mood, I prefer Cool Whip to the pie it's supposed to cover. :dunno:

I though it was just stuff you give to kids because they didn’t know any better. ;)

I don't eat it anymore but nothing beats good old whipped cream made to perfection. Just like margarine or butter substitute never beats good old butter.

You must be eating some shitty pies.

Meh. Not shitty, as such, but... I don't know. :dunno:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...butter. When I go to the future in-laws' house, I bring a stick of butter. They have margarine because my future sister-in-law is a vegan. Margarine SUCKS ASS.

I love open-faced turkey sandwiches the day after thanksgiving...Thanksgiving leftovers are the only leftovers that *magically* improve with a night in the ol' icebox...
