Favorite Movie Director All-Time?

George Lucas - StarWars (the older three ones) and Indy

Steven Spielberg(his resume speaks for itself)

David Fincher(directed Fight Club,'nuff said)

Christopher Nolan(five movies in and he hasn't done a bad one yet)

Michael Bay(say what you want, the man knows how to do action better than anyone)

Other that I like are Luc Besson,Ridley Scott,Guy Ritchie(when he's on his game),Tarentino,John Woo,and there are a few others that either haven't done enough movies(like Christopher McQuarrie who did The Way Of The Gun) or I only like one or two of their movies(like Woody Allen's Match Point,or Martin Scorses with The Aviator and Gangs Of New York).

aviator and gangs are the only scorsese movies you liked?

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Personally, I think Scorsese is over-rated. I only liked The Departed and Goodfellas. Most of his movies are the same thing with a different title. Gang members, tough guys and cops all have a good old time trying to figure out who the "spy" is...a couple people die...end of movie.

You know what, now that you mention it,I did like The Departed,Goodfellas, and Casino, but I forgot to mention those because I don't have them in my DVD collection. There's still a bunch of his movies that I haven't seen yet.

Hey Chef,I understand what you are saying but I do think that he's a little more versatile. The way you feel about Scorsese is the same way I feel about Oliver Stone. How many biopics does he have to do?

I forgot to add to my list, even though his last two movies weren't that good at all,Wes Anderson.Bottle Rocket,Rushmore,Royal Tenenbaums:thumbsup:,Life Aquatic and The Darjeeling Limited:sleep:

sure, pretty much all of his movies are about the mean streets of new york (see the movie Mean Streets). you could say the same thing about Spike Lee. I know that it's all just a matter of opinion. I'm usually a hard sell, but for me Marty is one of the few that lives up to the hype.

Alejandro Jodorowsky
Now that guy makes fucked up movies.
