Dr. Jason Fung is on the cutting edge of low-carb/high-fat intermittent fasting research. intensivedietarymanagement.com & dietdoctor.com are great resources.

Eliminate wheat and sugar and you won't be a fattie.

I am over 400 lbs and will continue with snickers bars, diet pepsi to have some slimness and pizza.

Losing weight is simple, EAT LESS !!!

I lost 10 pounds in one month simply by not eating any bread.
I can't survive without bread, you could have went with whole wheat. That shit is fucking good

Whole wheat bread causes the same glucose and insulin spikes as any other grain product.

The Law of Thermodynamics cannot be circumvented. It all comes down to calories in vs. calories out. The choice is how difficult do you want it to be and your body composition.

Hold onto/ build your rmuscle mass. Nothing burns calories more.

For me, carb counting is key with the sweet spot being between 50-100 grams per day. It won't get you into ketosis, but it does supress your appetite and still gives you enough energy to go all out on your workouts while loading up on fruits and vegetables. I can still eat spaghetti and garlic bread and be under the cap.

Beyond calories and macro-nutrients it's psychological, win the mental battle and the rest will fall into place.

Balance is the key. Cutting out one macronutrient such as carbs can give some results but it's not sustainable without side effects. You need to create a calorie deficit. Burn more calories than you consume while still eating all the macronutrients that your body needs. Carbs, fat, and protein are all necessary for health. It is the quality and quantity of these that usually gets screwed up.

Eat sensibly and exercise. What's so hard about that? I cut out sugary drinks (except for the occasional beer) and prepare most of my own meals from scratch. Tonight it's fish cakes with remoulade, roasted corn and broccoli. I still can't go without carbs, though.
