"Experts Say...", "Doctors Say...", Scientists Say..."

When an article starts a sentence with any of these phases is there any value or meaning unless we get a list of how many of them say or maybe a list of names? If 3 doctors have an opinion but 7 doctors have the opposite opinion you could still start your statement with "Doctors say..." and be correct because there is more than one.

To me it's more a language issue, a wording issue.
See, when someone says "Scientists think..." it could either mean that a few scientists think this way (like 10%) or some scientist (like 35%) or most scientists (like 55%) or even the overwhelming majority of scientists (like 80%).
It could even that every single of of them thinks like that. As in "Physicists say the Earth is round", this is something every single physicist thinks, you won't find any real physicist that would tell you that the Earth is flat. Yet, If I say "Physicists say the Earth is round", technically it could some do thinks so, but others don't.

Doctors don’t care about people and they don’t care about saving lives.

It's like "9/10 doctors recommend this tooth paste"
This one is a little more tricky : 9 ou of 10 doctors means it's most probably very efficient. Except, you don't know what kind of doctors recommend this. Because, if among those 10, only one is an actual dentist and the others are pediatricians, neuro-surgeons, dermatologists, etc. It's not as if they were very qualified to evaluate the efficiency of a tooth-paste. Not even mentioning the probability of the one dentist being the one out of nine who does not recommend it...

Same about "9 out of 10 scientists" : what kind of scientists ?
If I tell you about a study who says that that 9 out of 10 scientists think the Coronavirus was created in a lab in Wuhan but these scientists are physicists, astronomists, geologists, etc. And someone else tells you about another study with 7 out of 10 micro-biologists and epidemiologists thinking that the Coronavirus is natural, that he wasn't created in a lab, which of these 2 studies has more credibility ?
