We know the liberal double standards pretty well. The republicans are far more patriotic and attached to defend their country and its values than are the democrats whether you like it or not. Compagnies affiliated with the former Obama administration are hardly trustworthy. Remember the facebook scandal? That is enough for me not trust any organization that backed up the Obama's administration during his two terms and which was linked to him.

patriotism being love for country and nationalism being belief that your country is superior right or wrong? is that the fitting definition of the two?

in the case of the United States, both apply.

I don’t think nationalism projects superiority, but rather a national identity. Common language, common goals. Italians, Hispanics. Greeks, Jews spoke their native tongues at home and no one deprived them of their heritage and culture but when dealing with people in everyday life, they learned and spoke English. That is at the root of nationalism. The more that come here both legally and illegally seem not to care about assimilation or even learning the English language. They don’t want to become Americans they only want to be in America.

A huge difference in now and those they came in through Ellis Island.
