Yes, because corporate interests are ALWAYS doing what is right and looking out for the rights of workers instead maximizing greed and profits.

I think you're confused as to what I'm saying. The porn companies (Brazzers, Elegant Angel, etc...) obviously have no interest in paying the girls more since the more they pay out, the less they make. Thats not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the pornstars' management companies (LA Direct, Type 9, etc...). The more money the management squeezes out of the porn companies, the more money both the management & talent would make. So the management looking out for their workers WOULD in fact make them more money. But it would be the exact opposite for the porn companies. If one of the bigger management companies started doing this or even better if several of them agreed to start doing this in unison, the porn companies would be forced to cooperate or else management would hold back their talent. If there are no pornstars to hire, there's no porn to make & I think you'd have the beginnings of a union. Now who knows how hard this would be to do, but if they did do it, it would definitely give the girls a longer term source of revenue.

These sorts of changes are often rocky at first, but IMO the benefits are huge in the long run.

LOL I really enjoy reading these posts.

Thank you, Eve, for being so intelligent and frank with us. From my own perspective at least, it sounds like you're definitely doing the right thing and I applaud your efforts. Now where did I leave that ballot for the "World's Sexiest Small-Business Owner" voting ....

What a realistic chic you are and also intelligent :thumbsup:

Thank you very much : )

Smart move

Good luck! You'll rock it.

Thank you

Hey Eve That is cool you have do what you have to do for what is best for you

Thank you for your support.

Eve,

What is the "You are Shot Out" gimmick?

Also, it seems like if management companies like LA Direct and such would simply tell porn companies that they can't use their girls unless they get a share of the profits, then you girls could really start to get your fair share. And it would be in your management's best interest since they would presumably get a percentage of that extra income as well.

Basically, I think pornstars need a union (from yours & other pornstars complaints, i'm guessing there isn't one currently). This would be easy to do if some of the larger management companies would simply band together for their mutual benefit. Otherwise, these companies don't really seem to have much of a longterm plan for you girls.

The "You are Shot Out" gimmick is what agents and companies use to get girls to do more intense scenes that they wouldn't normally do to continue the amount of income that they are a custom too. But in the end they are only "high chasing" for a lack of a better term.

Now this is my personal opinion but this will never happen I feel agents work more the the companies then they actually for the the talent the represent. Instead of help a girl plan a long profitable that is best for her . . . there is this silent bond between agents and companies that speaks lets just run this one through the mill and move onto the next. The industry runs like a one nightstand not successful relationship between companies and performers. Corporations with power do not use there influence for the good of their people (the performers). IN my opinion large un-regulated corporations are killing freedom in America. The companies think they are above the law and what is right a wrong.

I've never said this so early in summer....but I wish it was winter.

Me too it is going to be a great year : )

She is just so damn pretty and sexy! I want to have sex with her more than anyone! Damn she is so freakin' hot! We love you, Eve!

Thank you for taking the time to write such wonderful things.

Actually, really popular girls in the industry can make upwards of around $20K/month, if not more, by shooting for internet companies.

Yes but in that revenue the companies see recurring profits that last years and years to come. This flash of $20K/month is very short term and just a way to get performers hooked on that short-term income like a drug. In this industry $ is used as a drug.

I agree.

Maybe not because it doesn't take much to know how to make money in the industry, it's just a matter planning out ones career.

And obviously a woman is better off controlling her own content.

But the main problem with that strategy is that those women in the industry who do that, and they are very few in number, sacrifice popularity and income for total control.

Which is why I suppose Eve has decided to do feature dancing, because she knows that by not working for any of the big named internet and dvd production companies she loses out on potential income, so it has to be made up somewhere else.

hmmmmm. . . In opinion anyone that the state that making money in this industry doesn't take much to know how is incorrect. Just because our product is porn does not make it any less of a business. It takes research and planning and most of all listening to your target audience. I say this with all due respect because I love engaging in conversations and expanding my perspective of the situation. But no matter how successful anyone or company is there is always room for improvement things change everyday so we should as well.

I agree that some changes and increased regulation is required to make the industry more successful as a whole. These changes wouldn't just be to benefit performers but the corporations as well so there is a understanding across the board of what everyone's legal rights and responsibilities are to one another.

Let me be clear I am not bashing Corporate Internet Companies they helped make me who I am and I am grateful for the opportunities that they presented at the time in my career when those options were best for me.

The point is that when I stopped doing what made me happy I became a person I didn't recognize when I looked in mirror I felt like I had no options SO I made my own. Nothing in this world is going to make me feel suppressed.

I am a creative artist and I am choosing to feature dance not for the money but as another way to connect and express myself to my fans. My fans are what matter to me not the money. I am making more money now being true to myself, my beliefs and my fans then I ever have working for anyone else and the best part is that I feel amazing and empowered as a independent female in a industry where such things are hard to come by.

I love what I do and I love my industry and all of the things I say are geared toward a means of improvement within our industry and is not meant to enrage or cause drama. These are my honest feelings that I am choosing to express to my fans.

Hey Eve i gotta admit im a little confused about wots going on but you have to do what is best for you and only you know what the right decision is going to be for you. Always nice to talk to you.

Long story short, she wants to be in more control of the content she's involved with producing. Big companies make money long term of her performances, and she gets paid a one-time flat rate. She's essentially cutting out the middle man and producing content that make more long term fiscal sense for herself. She's outsmarting most of the industry.

Thanks I understand now. I didn't wan't it to seem like i was being rude, i just couldn't get my head round it

Going off on a tangent here ... from years of pressing my nose against the windows of the porn world (So with a lot of observation, but still an outsider viewpoint), it seems like the only way to really change things for everyone's benefit would be if a single agency managed to accumulate enough of the talent under their wing that they couldn't be ignored, and then changed the pricing model so it was a mix of an initial fee and a royalty cut, which could be a potentially variable ratio adjusted based on the profile of the production company even. (I.e. places that did things without much residual would clearly need to have a higher up-front cost to them.)

This way the talent benefits from an ongoing stake, the agencies get increased cash flow stability from getting their ongoing cuts (and everyone in business knows that predictable cash flow is very valuable), and new, up-and-coming production companies could hire top talent for a lower initial cost, reducing their necessary initial capitalization.

Of course, the key problem here is the idea of getting together a client portfolio in one agency that would really make it so production companies couldn't afford to ignore them. It strikes me that this would have been easier 10-15 years ago when there was more of a concentration of consumer attention on just a few performers ... since then it'd be easier for one agency to bring enough of them under their roof to pull this off.
