In your opinion he is the best. But in certain things, like music, there are too many factors for anyone to be the BEST.

Eminem is very hit and miss for me, his stuff like Stan and Mosh are fantastic and some of the best rap songs I've heard. However he's made some bad stuff as well, some really bad.

I'd say he'd go down as comfortably in the top 5 for me of all time but not the best.

Tupac still holds that.

Tupac is the best hands down. heres my top 10 list
1.Tupac
2.Biggie
3.Jay-s
4.Lil Wayne
5.Nas
6.Kanye West
7.KRS-1
8.NWA (the whole group)
9.Shyne

I might get stick for this but I think Biggie is a tad over rated and is far off Tupac's level. Kayne West is great and Jay-Z is very good and with Eminem probably the best of today.

1. Tupac
2. Jay-Z
3. Eminem
4. Kayne West
5. Snoop Dog (for entertainment value)

I think Eminem is not a good rapper, ok i like some of his songs but overall he aint all that good like. Just my opinion!!!

there are so many better rappers than tupac(who is great) and biggie, and thats all anybody seems to know here. what about: aceyalone, de la soul, tribe, j-beez, del and the rest of hiero, lons, wu-tang, kool keith, outkast, bdp, all natural...and the list goes on. people should check out more stuff besides all thats "cool". and im not discrediting the artists mentioned, but there's a lot, and i mean A LOT of great stuff out there. most of the aformentioned can't hold a candle to many of the lesser known or less popular artists.

I've been listening to rap music since it pretty much first started and I agree that there are so many good artists like KRS-1, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Common, The Roots and the list goes on and on and on. However Biggie and 2pac were the first ones that I listened to and could feel what they were saying. That's why in my opinion (and I stress again in my opinion) Biggie and 2pac are the greatest of all time.

since it 1st started? you're 24. hip hop was around before you were born.
anyway, im not trying to start an argument, we're all entitled to our opinions.
juice was a great movie, for real though.

I was actually trying to make a point but I guess that got lost somewhere. Anyway, point was (and I said this in another thread a while back) was that rap music use to have meaning. People rapped about what going on at the time. Now it seems that all they rap about is how much bling they have or how much ass they get. It's refreshing to see someone like Kanye West emerge out of that. Unfortunately, for every Kanye West there's another two like 50 Cent or Lil' Jon who just mess it up for you. I was speaking to a customer in my store just the other day about this. He's in high school and told me he wanted to be a rapper. I asked him why and he said so that he can wear ice and freak dance with a lot of women. I said I was picking up the new Biggie cd and he looked at me and told me he's never heard of Biggie. All he knows about is 50 Cent or any of the other crap artists out there. I told him that before he becomes a rapper he should learn about the history first. In order to know where you're going you have to know where you've been. There've been a few who've come out in the last 5 years or so that are good like Kanye, DMX, Eminem and The Game but they are a rare sight these days.

yeah, i pretty much aggree with what you're saying, but hip hop still has meaning. i don't know what meaning you get from dmx or the game, but if you found something in it, good for you. check out some of the artists i mentioned, old stuff or new, you'll find plenty of meaningful rhymes plus great beats. and if you like chicago's wonderchild, check out all natural, capital d is profound, or check E.C ILLA. and don't forget Juice, if you like eminem you know who he is.
all the artists you mention are straight commercial, and good for them and anybody that digs their shit. but any fan of hip hop should fall into the underground. it'd change their perspective, and with hip hop being SOOOO popular these days, its real easy to check out lesser known stuff, not like before, when the underground was really deep down and your walkman was vital in checking out new stuff or you had to special order most of your records.

Eminem Is Brilliant But Not The BEST
The Best Are Between 3 Geniuses And Late Rappers
Tupac ''2Pac'' Shakur
The Notiorious B.I.G.
Big L

Eminem is good. But give props to his influences. no one is a better wordsmith than Big Daddy Kane.

Will Smith Is The Best Rapper/Actor
LMAO... yes I suppose the best "rapper/actor"... but you try and call him the best "rapper" I will personally hunt you down and make you think otherwise lol

Back in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 you could call him the best rapper but The Eminem Show was his last great effort.
But he was fuckin' ill about ten years ago (wow time flies).

I'd agree Eminiem is the best in my opinion but really only his older less commercial music, i prefered his darker lyrics/humour and completely different to other rappers who spoke more about the materialistic wants of life rather than the emotional hardships of life.

i dont know if he is the best rapper but give him his due he saved rap back in the day when boy bands ran the world he kept rap afloat

Lord Dipstick
Yes, lyrically and content wise, he is the best ever......there can be no doubt!
:yesyes:

Will E Worm

Conspiracy...
He's thirty-six years old.

Didn't he say something about not being a rapper at thirty-five?

He said if he's still doing this, rapping, at thirty-five, shoot him. :hatsoff:
