Elder Scrolls IV - Champion of the Fighters Guild

These achievements are so useless, what's the utility apart from showing to everybody that you're good at the game.

And your point is? Who cares, lets unlock another achievement, yee-hah!

BioShock - achievement for watching a cinematic!

Bullet Witch - achievement for playing 15 hours!

Condemned - achievement for picking up a dead bird!

Gears of War - achievement for killing 10, 000 people!

If not for achievements I wouldn't bother playing so much, they fix the problem I always had in gaming.

Yeah but that's it, now gamers get addicted to games that are not that good (Oblivion is still really great) and play the games as a job, like "I gotta get the achievements". I saw on gamespot.com a guide to get 10000 achievement points and they were suggering you to buy some games, and some of these games were pure crap, but I'm sure some guys bought them anyway because they give points easily. And I also don't like the facts that on a player's profile you can see every game he tried, so it says like 3000/15000 points if you rent alot of games.

Tell me about it, people look at mine and can see I've played Hour of Victory, Vampire Rain, Bullet Witch, stuff like that, I'd love to wipe them from my profile. One of the oddest things about achievements for example is that games such as King Kong gives 1000 points, while FarCry Instincts gives 15 points for completion. A plus point is when playing half the night my girlfriend says "stop playing games", simply turn round and say "I'm not playing a game - I'm boosting my gamerscore!"

Achievements make me want to play on harder difficulties, not so I can boast about finishing Crackdown or GoW (for example) on maximum difficulty, but for me, so I can look at my profile and fondly remember killing that last boss and how hard it was, and cherish that 5 points I gained:crying:

Halo III gives no points at all if you play on Easy:eek:

oh yeah and what the deal with magic? is there an easire way to boost it ? because it sucks trying to level all of them up.

Yeah Magic is the easiest skill to level...you can max out all the skills in few hours.

Just create a spell that takes 1 mana (is it mana in oblivion, I haven't played for a while so I forget) to cast. Then just cast it constantly, your rate of regeneration will probably be enough to negate it, and you can just cast the same spell over and over.

One thing though, they have to be cast on valid targets I recommend getting an unlock spell and casting it at a door or a chest, get a summon skeleton spell for 1 point and just cast it anywhere (you have to wait for one skeleton to disappear before you can cast the next), get a healing spell and cast it on yourself or another character, and get a damage spell (get one that curses you or something like that for 1 second) and cast it on yourself (damage spells have to be able to do some damage so the options are to cast it on yourself or do a lot of dungeon diving, I prefer the first one).

This the easiest and fastest way I know of to level up your spells.

Be careful though about leveling too much, you probably already know that you waste levels if you don't level your character after 10 (Major or minor, doesn't matter as long as it is within the same stat) skill levels because the extra skill levels (beyond 10) won't be carried over to add to your stats next time your character levels up.
