Einstein Saw Religion as a "Childish Superstition"

^^ Yea... People that still believe that bullshit are insane..

No one has to prove there is no god.
There's nothing to be proven.

Frankly, I'm surprised not more educated people go against the absurdity of religions. It's a stupefying, conflict-mongering big hoax that's doing everything it can to upset the applecart for science and justice.

Religions are bound to die out, as people become happier and smarter. It's an anachronistic way of thinking that doesn't benefit anyone but the fundamentalists.

^ it's the comfort of not having to be in control which is very dangerous. Religion started as just stories and turned into life rules to controle weak minded and fearful people. It's supersticious to think that god commited suicide in the form of hid "***" in order to excuse the "evils" of the world. Go Einstien. I wish Ben Stein was as smart though.

Is this Religion Saturday or something?? Just look at the country! The majority believe they can talk to a guy everynight! Now tell me that they are rational human beings! Some people are just insane and even If you could show them cold hard proof they still would not believe you, that there is no God! They will stop disputing my God! Notice the word "my God". The founding fathers would say everyones God while the neo-cons say my god!

Einstein is the man & of course he is right about everything he says in this

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstein.

A quote i remember, thought i'd just throw it in.

Karl Marx understood it better than Einstein.

What would happen if you were selected to handle the BBQing an atheist get together and an unfortunate series of events lead to.... say..... your arm catches fire because you put accidentally filled the lighter fluid can with gas.... so the fire is out :p and you're in agony with 2 - 3rd degree burns and all of the sudden, it slips out : "God" !!!
What would you're fellow areligious faithful say or do to you ?

Also, • Are there particular atheist chapters that you belong to ? you know, like regional districts etc. ? If Yes, Why ?
• Do you pay dues as you would in a membership ? If so why ?
• Does the atheist community have a vested interest in the eventual destruction of any or all of the 5 basic religions of the world ?
• Does the athestic community align themselves with any particular political ideology ?

• True or False : The difference between your regular everyday garden variety agnostic and and atheist is that the agnostic couldn't care less what others believe, they just go their merry way and mind their own affairs i.e. not active in persuading others to believe a certain way.

• So what makes Atheism NOT a faith ? It's an ideology and a belief system therefore it is a faith, No ?

Do understand - I'm kinda kiddin but I'm kinda serious too.

Oh, before I go, did it ever occur to ya guys that most so called christians or "believers" if you will aren't really *** ho about going to church and they're nowhere near as devout as the atheist community make them out to be ?

I know of christians who don't even think of god till they're seriously ill or when someone dies ! :wtf: ???

Slipping out the word God has nothing to do with faith. I am not athiest and how do you know for sure most people on here are? Athiesm is too Dogmatic for me. Thats why I am deist. Believe in a higher being but not a guy in the sky like most religious nuts. And the reason why I am not agnostic is I would be worried it would drain on us that we could never find where we came from which I think we should always be seraching for that. Agnostic is the belief that we do not nor never will have the knowledge to know if there is a higher being. So could be either way.

In relation to your points -

They would say nothing (not that I go to atheist get togethers, I just have friends of different faiths or non-faiths), using God as a cry of alarm etc is just the same as saying damn or **** etc

There are no atheist chapters, there is The British Humanist Association & I'm sure the equivalent in other countries. Some atheists probably are members but most don't think about god enough to warrant joining some collective. They just get on with their lives (if only the more fundamental religious followers would do likewise!)

False. Many atheists have no problem with people who believe in god, in fact they fit the description you apply to agnostics. They only get involved when the more fundamental elements of religious groups attempt to ***** their faith down other people's throats, impose their morality on others, & condemn people for their lifestyles etc. In other words those who use their faith as an excuse for bigoted points of view. Fighting fire with fire I guess. But in all honesty why shouldn't atheists become active in persuading others to believe a certain way? Religion has been doing that for century after century!

Not all ideologies and belief systems are faiths. A faith is specific to religion because it is a belief system which has no factual evidence at its core (i.e. the existence of a deity) hence the fact it is called a faith.

I just got done reading a gift from a buddy in France.... The book, "Atheist Manifesto", by Michel Onfray.

If you thought Hitchens or Dawkins was sour, Onfray completely dismantles the superstition of all forms of religion throughout history and citing/opening up the works of forgotten/unheralded free thinkers.
