DVD Questions?????

Okay I have 2 different DVD/VCR Players and I bought some DVD's,some where DVD-R and some DVD+R,Well BOTH handbooks for both DVD Players say they will play both type DVD's but may have issues. Well my problem is neither DVD PLayer will play either kind. Is there something I need to download that will solve my problem? I mean something besides having a dvd burner?

There was copy protection on Panasonic's some time ago, if it found you made a copy of your CD collection, it used to not play them. I think for marketing reasons they decided sales were better without that "added feature".

A burner I would think would tell you if they failed. Try reducing the speed.

I have a SV2000 and a Symphonic. Both handbooks say they will play DVD's that have been burned.

I have a Zenith DVB312. It is supposed to play both with no problems. I have only tried DVD-R burned discs though, but I have never had a problem before. One thing You Might want to do is search google, you will probably find something useful.

I know that many DVD players or actually all DVD players do play both DVD-R and +R but not any brand.
Some players have problems with discs of some brands.
Sony fe is big in making problems with discs of another brand.

So maybe try a disc of another brand?

Verbatim makes damn good discs and I never had a problem with them.

Well Ive tried Maxwell and Sony, I havent hard of Verbatim but will see if I can find them.

I thought maybe I needed some other info that I wasnt aware of. So when you burned yours you just stuck the dvd in your HD , AND then burned it normally?

yeah, some dvd will play dvd-r and some will even play cd-rs and even avi/mpeg/mpg mvies on a cd-r. it jsut depends. on the box the dvd players come in there is usually a list of what the will and will not play. i miss the one that played cd-rs with avi and mpegs on it. :( i used to make my own porn compilations.

Thanks!
