I've had it for a long time and I couldn't take any slower connection anymore. It really changes things. I remember when I first got it how I was amazed to see how fast everything went. A small download can be as quick as switching on the light, but that depends on the site you're downloading from too of course. If you're frequently using the Internet, I really recommend you get DSL.

+1 for Vegas

My brother asked me to come over and remove some spyware from his computer. I wanted to download some protection for him, such as spybot and ad-aware, but he has dial-up with Net Zero. The files aren't that large, but i get so impatient with dial-up, I went all the way back home, downloaded them on my computer, saved them to cd, and then went back to his house to install them. Nothing beats a fast connection, even when the slow connection isn't as slow as it feels like it is.

i got one... u dont even realize the internet, like u take it for granted that stuff just pops up so quickly and there is no waiting.
went to my buddys he had high speed dial up and i could still tell the difference. The price is about the same for both as well.
a song takes me roughly 10-20 seconds to d/l... good times

Make sure your comp has an ethernet connection for that modem ( if it's an older model) - mine did not, so I bought one from Best Buy and a partner put in for me.

My cable is 2.5 Mb DL, not sure about the UL rate, and damn is it fast. It's was like going from a 486x to a pentium, it just blew me away.

it's sure that cable is MUCH better-faster than DSL but
i believe that DSL is more affortable than Cable connections...
in my country cable costs 4-5 times more than a DSL...

1,4Mbps for me and I am glad of my dsl, fast and it rarely crashed. Cable is less affordable than dsl in France and dsl is more versatile I think.

i pay something like 40 bucks.

i pay about 40euros per month for a aDSL 384/128... :ak47: :crash:

33 € for 8/1 mbit/s

Going to downgrade myself to 2/2 mbit/s at 20 € per month. I really need more upload badly.

In september however I get my own flat with 10/10 dedicated (non shared) for 39€ month :D

it was the same around me too, it only costs so much because theres no cable running where u live. I had to wait a few years till it got cheap enough. My speed is around 4.5 mbps
