Downloads will never replace the great gift of Gaming, The Cardridges and discs, oh and let's not forget manuals, and the mightiest gift of them all, The Packages.

I want a physical copy. The download ones have too many problems like has been said having to re-download a bunch of games because the HD is corrupted. Or problems with the tracking of what games you've already downloaded. Companies in those situations could go out of business or change businesses all together and then you're shit out of luck as they're not going to keep their servers running so people can download games.

Look at the PC, that's where its heading or its there right now. With services like Steam, D2D, Gamersgate etc. I just like the convenience of opening up Steam searching for a game, buying it and its tied to your account forever.

Ain't that the truth. I seem to remember seeing a collector's box of Fallout 3 that had a bobblehead included.
It is like the DVD - sure, the DVD is struggling, but there are still us geeks out there who collect the stuff because of the cool packaging as well as the product within.

I was really wanting one of those vault boy bobbleheads till I saw how much people wanted for it. $40-$50 is crazy just for the bobblehead alone.

I also prefer discs.
Things can go wrong during a download. It can get interrupted, the download can become corrupt, the harddrive can become corrupt. What if I downloaded Cities XL from Monte Cristo and they went bankrupt a few months ago (which they did)? One company (EA) even tried making an installation limit on one of their games (Spore) - so, even if they companies did keep track of your purchases, you would almost be guaranteed of having your downloads very limited.

Oh yeah. I hate when my download suddenly goes to shit for no reason

yes they can increase hard drive space but then they lose profit on the game because it is not just software u pay for it is typically the case and little paper that has title and little info on back and other company logos and stuff and also then they cant have limited ed. versions of games and they will suck up hard drive space if they do

what the fuck you lookin at?
I need the disc. Only way downloading games would work is if the hardrives were huge! I mean thousands of gigs. Other than that, give me the fuckin disc! Could just be the old school gamer in me, but thats what I'm more comfortable with.

I've downloaded some games before... it's not too bad. I own more discs than downloads though, so there ya go.
