I first remember her from Remington Steele then Everybody Loves Raymond. She was very funny in both shows, and I will miss her work.

I remember her sharing a story on a Late Night show, she was apparently friends with Sir Lawrence Olivier's wife. His wife asked him to call Doris and give her a message, instead he got the answering machine. He started to leave a message, started spluttering, then swearing, and finally "I hate these damn things!" then hung up.

She said she still had the tape.

Still watch ELR. She was a good one.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
That womans roll as Marie on ELR,,,,,was EXACTLY what I grew up with, times 3. My 3 devoutly Catholic Aunts could wield guilt, like a Ninja wields a sword...and one was even named Marie! On the bright side, I can no longer be made to feel guilty. I have also recently seen a much younger version of Doris, on old reruns of "Barney Miller".

R.I.P.

Well, I believe she must have tried to enjoy her life to the fullest. Hopefully she got most of what she wanted out of it.

That is something we should try and aspire.

It is a loss of great actress but she should be celebrated as well as mourned.

Hopefully that is what her friend and family are doing.
