Anybody here?
In matters of the Catholic tenets, the Pope is regarded as infallible. Popes are supposed to be apolitical, but in those matters they can be and often are wrong.
He is loved by the left. I am not Catolica so I could give a rat's ass about the Pope. Although I considered John Paul II a great man.
No he's not. We count on Allah and Mohammed to check the spread of Christianity. Remember?

Ahem...you are the first lib that doesn't like him. He's just one man...so don't worry you still don't have to hitch your wagon to the whole religion. It's ok.. really it is.
To liberals, Islam is a check against Christianity, it is supported by the left because Christianity has affected their lives or offends their sensibilities.,
There will be a point and time that Islam will be hated much the same as Christianity as Islam is far less tolerant of all the progressive items on the agenda. The left just haven't been exposed to the effects of it yet.
To liberals such as yourself, Islam is a check against Christianity because Islam has not affected your life and stopped you from doing whatever it is that you do..
I also made a general observation about the left, not every liberal. I am of the impression that a lot on the left have no use for Christianity, not all but a lot! At least the most vocal against it.
I have never asserted that the left loves Islam, only that they view it as a force against the oppressive Christian faith.
I made a comment about how the left is willing to embrace Islam for the greater purpose of dismantling the effect of Christianity
Talk about making broad generalizations.
No, and the notion is absurd. Was the current pope infallible from birth or just when a bunch of fallible bishops elected him?
Same with every other pope.
I want to know next week's lottery numbers. I'll donate 100% to a charity of the pope's choosing. Tell me what they are, infallible one.
Or better yet, an either/or proposition:
Who wins the superbowl?
#fuck the pope
How can one be both apolitical and a state leader (the pope is the state leader of the Vatican). In matters of the Catholic tenets, the Pope is regarded as infallible. Popes are supposed to be apolitical, but in those matters they can be and often are wrong.
Well, this is just a hoot. A hoot, says I.
So, we embrace Islam as a check against Christianity (which we hate) but we're head over heels for the Pope.
Cool story bro!
The infallible label has always been just a political weapon dressed in religious clothes.
You went to all that trouble when I already addressed that the Pope is just one man albeit the face of the church and that he is trying to fundamentally change Catholicism? He is saying all the things that make the left tingly in their nether regions. Sometimes I think you just react and not think before you post. So yeah, the left can support Islam against Christianity and also admire a Pope that seems to be shaking up the apple cart. Kinda in the same way that they find themselves inadvertently aligned with Neo-Nazis by trashing the U.S. support for Israel.
So you're going with Door Number 2: You'd rather twist yourself into a pretzel than just admit you blew it with your knee-jerk attempt to paint the Left with any brush you can pull out your ass. But even that's not good enough for you. You hit bedrock with the hole you're digging yourself and keep right on going by trying a Neo-Nazi comparison. That's OK. NC could use a good oil well so, keep us posted.
