As far as pillows go, I wouldn't be able to move for a week if I didn't have two of them. My neck is so screwed up if one of them gets tossed in the night I pay for it the whole next day.

A nice loaded shotgun handy somewhere 'round the bed is always nice for high crime areas (which I am no stranger to).

Down comforters certainly do better than pillows. Probably a personal preference, but I find that down pillows end up flat as hell after maybe two days, and I don't even bother fluffing my pillows, and for that reason tend to avoid them.

No, you're right, they do get flat as all hell. You can buy the "cover" for an extra like $60.00 which firms them up a bit. Go to Herbergers for the real good deals. Honestly, a good pillow can be had for probably no more than $20.00, and just broken in right.

i use 3,2 for sleep and one i hug or place between my legs and hold.
but the other night i had this crazy dream that i was eating a giant marshmallow and when i woke up i only had 2 pillows left...hmmm???:dunno:

*As for me? I'm kinda weird I think. Maybe others do this too, but :dunno:. I use one pillow but I ball up these 3 blankets I have on top of the pillow, but a loose ball so it's all soft. That way no matter which way I turn my head it's surrounded by soft!! :dunno::dunno:

I have trouble finding a comfortable pillow.
I'm currently using feather pillows, but they have to be constantly shook-up to keep their softness.
Those poly-fibre pillows you can buy, are crap.. they lose their support after a week or so and then I end up throwing them out.
