Do you say Hard disk, Hard disc, or Hard Drive?

I say 'Fucking useless piece of shit.. why can't they make a drive that lasts more than 12 months.. aww shit, all my fucking porn.. LOST!'

Out of those I would say hard drive if just because way back in the day it helped differentiate between the old 3.5 inch "floppy" disk that some people actually called a hard disk and an actual hard drive.

People abbreviate words too much these days, IMO. You should use the FULL technical term: thing-a-ma-bob.

Hi guys do u know which term is more appropriate to use? I'm having computer problems and need to email a technician, and I want to make it sound professional. Thanks!

Doesn't matter if you call it 'hard disk', 'hard drive' or whatever, if the rest of your email sounds like crap, it won't sound professional anyway.

Mostly when people ask me to help them with computer problems it sounds like this:

- "Hey man, can you take a look at my computer, it crashed"
- "What happened?"
- "Dunno. I was working on my computer and it suddenly crashed"
- "What did you do?"
- "Nothing. I was just working"
- "What programs were you running?"
- "Euh... dunno. I was just browsing"
- "Did you install anything new lately?"
- "Euh... No"
- "Did you change any configuration?"
- "No"
- "What error came up?"
- "Dunno"
...

Really helpfull
