I'll be straight out with it, i've never once paid for pron, never rented, bought a dvd, video, hell or a porn meg. Like everyone else yeah its wrong and i feel bad cause they are losing money...but its there and its free. Also those 15,20,30min vids i just skip through it cut down to about 4mins..

I can tell you that most of my studio and website clients just arent producing that much anymore. They cant afford to.

And from what I am hearing most of the larger studios have also shut down production on all but a few movies. Hustler from what I understand is only doing Barley Legal and parodies. Everything else is on hiatus.

The industry has lost about 300 performers in the last year and I just dont see the flow of new girls coming into the industry like I did 2-3 yrs ago.

Even sites like Bang Bros and Reality Kings are trying to expand into the dating market instead or porn.

Whats going to happen is that porn will be free and the studios will not be shooting anything new and you will be watching the same scenes over and over again - on the tubes.

Many of the new scenes will be shot by talent themselves that can do content trades on performances and most of those scenes will be on their websites - not DVD.

Amateur porn will continue to grow and take over for much of the gonzo that has been released.

Porn as an industry will come to a grinding halt.

I have tried 5 different subscriptions (i.e scoreland) in the last few months, and came to the conclusion that it really isnt worth paying for. Alot of websites lack the sheer amount of content thats illegally downloadable. A few websites that might be worth it are the bigger ones like metart or networks like bangbros.

I pay for porn when I buy the dvds at adult stores and sometimes I buy them online. As far as online porn I don't pay for it since I don't join any sites. The only free porn I watch online is the sample clips and pictures here on freeones plus some of the links that are posted on the boards. I support the industry and the stars aswell. Whenever I get out and there is a porn star performing at a men's club, I gather my friends and go out and buy dvds , posters or whatever else they might be selling.

I don't know much about how the porn industry is run but is there some sort of union like in the music industry where copyright infringement is watched like a hawk and people are prosecuted???

No, I don't think I've ever paid directly for porn. I've paid indirectly... high-speed internet, external hard drives, DVD-R's, etc. But all of those had a practical purpose too. There are three main reasons that I dont:

1) I don't need to. The stuff that's available for free scratches my itch well enough. Paying for porn would be like trading in my Corolla for a Ferrari. Sure it's nice, but would I honestly get anything more out of it than what I'm getting now? Not really.

2) I can't afford to. We're in a recession here. I've cut back virtually every other luxury expense I make. Why would I start spending more on porn at a time when I'm cutting back on everything else?

3) It would be a slippery slope. If I justified buying porn once, I'd probably do it again and again, until I had purchased way more than my limited budget could sustain. I have just the sort of addictive personality to do that. I'm better off drawing the line at things that facilitate my porn habit, rather than directly feeding it.

P.S. Mind you, I am in the process of getting a degree in the business field as well as my BFA in Graphic Design. I graduated with a 5.86 GPA. I completely agree with the sentiments in the above post, except I subscribe to the Wicked site. I admire and enjoy their product a great deal and want to see MORE porn of that standard so I'll support them by buying DVD's and subscribing. Besides the membership works out at 63 English Pence a day, more or less pays for itself!
