I have 4 and I don't regret any of them. As other folks said, get something that is important or has meaning to you. That way you don't look at it and regret it.

Also, make sure you get it someplace that's easy to cover up if you are in or want to go into a professional like of work.

And lastly, research your tattoo artists. Not every shop has artists with the same talent. Look at their portfolios, ask questions (use of disposable needles is the big one), and watch them work.

I have one, on my left wrist. The word "Poet" in scripty letters, right above my thumb.

I actually did it myself with a needle, thread, and ink. lol. I was alot younger, and not so sober. But it turned out pretty well, and I don't regret it at all.

I'm planning on getting more (and professionally done this time, for sure) but I'm taking my time. Thinking over exactly what I want. You really shouldn't just pick out a random design. The tattoos that you don't regret are the ones that mean something to you. So in that way, it's more than just a fashion thing. It becomes like a "story". That's when it's real art.


Well, there is one silly one I wanna get. A little red heart, with my Girl's initials inside, right above my cock. I know they say you shouldn't get names and stuff like that, but I figure if we ever break up for some reason, I could always have the initials filled in. So then it'd just be a heart, y'know?

Anyway, I think it'd be sexy. She's a little iffy about the idea, but I think when she sees it, she'll love it.

There are some paintings that I could look at everyday of my life and never tire. I have never felt this way about a tattoo.

The ones I like best are the big ones by design. A whole back for instance, but not one where there have been a number of smaller designs and then it was decided to fill in the gaps with what looks like a flock wallpaper design. "Sleeves" are probably the worst of all, it looks like a set of doodles knocked out while talking on a prison telephone.

First one I ever got was a Japanese symbol for energy on the back of my left leg, and then a cross on the side of my right leg, and then a black and red star (not nautical star) on the back of each arm, and a finally, i have a small barcode on the back of my head too.
