I use my laptop a lot but I have a desktop computer just in case my laptop crashes, which happened recently. Fortunately I purchased the warranty on it and the repair only cost $40. I digress though. I just wanted to remind people that laptops can be POS and it's a good idea to have the warranty.

Yeah, when mine works I do. I like being able to leave it on all the time.

The answer to that question really depends on who you're specifically targeting. For those of us computer literate enough to take advantage of a desktop, they'll always be there, but for the mass market, the future of computing is mobile, so for those who aren't savvy enough to use what the have, there won't be a need.

Computers are suppose to start get cheaper with every new computer; im not in the favor of that competitive market, as to two points makes a straight lie ordeal.

I'm not getting an iAnything. As far as a laptop goes I would use one but only when I need to travel around and take it with me, because lugging my desktop around is a bitch the few times I've had to do it. Other than that I see not reason to use a laptop that performs worse, cost more, doesn't game well, and is ergonomically unfriendly.

I don't have a computer..

in order to post messages on here, I first dictate my message to a dictaphone, it is then written on the dried-out skin of a fiery dragon, by a tibetan monk, the message is placed into a hollowed-out unicorn's horn, sealed with wax and tied to the back of a golden eagle..
The eagle flies non-stop from Tibet to the dense jungles of South America, where tribal indians kill the eagle for food and pass the parchment to Lord Lucan, who in turn jumps on the back of Shergar and rides like the wind to a secret location in Canada, where the message is typed into a commodore 64 by chimpanzee...
The now digitized message is transmitted via satellite to the Freeones server..

Finally the message is ready to be displayed..
unfortunately it isn't shown, because the 'Server is busy'

Building a comically fast desktop is super cheap these days, I don't see why not. I don't have one, but they're still useful.

Laptops are great for many applications but I wouldn't adios my desktop or any future desktops. I prefer the power, the size and the ease of having the keyboard, mouse and monitor all be at different positions. I hate touch pads on laptops as well as typing right in front of the screen.

iVE GOT IT MADE.

What in the name of fuzzy nutsacks are you talking about?

I have a desktop only for my design work. I need monster hard drive space, and I run it with three monitors.

For me, it's a good thing to have a designed "work space." My laptop is just for farting around. Going to the desk and sitting down means it's business time.

Two towers and one laptop. One tower is down, the other is what I am on now, and the laptop is offline always and for working on things and whatnot.
