Do not talk to the police, even if you are completely innocent.

This is a lecture by a law school professor (who is also a former criminal defense attorney) and a police officer explaining in detail why exactly you should never talk to the police, even if you were really absolutely innocent:

I found the whole lecture to both entertaining and interesting. Of course, this only applies in the USA or countries that actually have similar rights to what the fifth amendment grants. There are countries where police interrogations start out by roughing you up a bit (or a lot) first.

Well I knew that. You can't trust police or DA's to prove your innocence. They're only interested in keeping the conviction rate up. As slimy as lawyers might seem for defending legit murderers and rapists, one learns to appreciate those guys when he or she is being wrongly accused of a crime they didn't commit.

America: the only place where police have more power than the Criminals ;)

Depending on the situation I will either give in or I will give them a hard time. The local Boys have let me go on more than one occasion for stuff I won't get into here; I went to high school with a few of them, so that played to my benefit.

If I am clean and everything is in order and I feel like giving the guy or gal a hard time I can and will; If they are dicks I will watch my Ps and Qs. I've been hasseled by them on more than one occasion and know their whole shtick, growing up in the big city here, so I am a seasoned veteran already at my age with the Rollers.

This is an extremely entertaining lecture. Wish we had speakers like this in my CJ classes.

But the "do not talk to the police" doesn't only extend to the police. It also extends to internal boarder control that are 50-60 miles from the boarder. Show them ID if they ask for it but you do NOT have to answer their questions about where you're going or what you're going to do when you get there (unless you're not a US citizen).

Unfortunately one doesn't have that choice if they live outside USA. When police speak to them, they must answer back. They are also guilty until proven innocent.
That is such a load of shit.
America's police have too much power. In Russia it's the opposite.. the country is run by Russian Mafia's.

And here's how you should handle situations when you get stopped on the road by the police

Are you kidding me? Criminals probably have too many rights in the US.

And besides, this thread isn't about cops vs criminals, it's about cops abusing their authority.

America's police have too much power. .

And they're never there when the 300LB three time ex felon hopped up on Angel Dust breaks in, either.

Thankfully in America, unlike the insanity of most European countries, we CAN defend ourselves against such insanity.

Lethal force, baby. :ak47:
