Adult Friend Finder frequently will use faces of actual starlets. It's a shame and someone should take those assholes to court. You don't know how many softcore and even hardcore pornstars actually live in my zip code!!!! Bull shit.

Everybody should know it's fake, but what really pisses me off are the times you will see somebody in the photo that is hot and not be able to tell who it really is. There have been some girls that I have seen only once and because I didn't know what name they go by I can't search for them.

I don't even look at those shots - it's all BS to me anyway.

Yeah, those things are laughable. I was pleased to learn that Erica Campbell goes by the name Casey, and lives only 2.1 miles from me, thought. :nanner:

Oh wait... :crying: It's not really true...

Hehehe. BTW, Dorothy Black lives behind Red Lobster. I searched all over my registry and came to the conclusion it's your ISP providing them with the zip codes. Then all of a sudden, they seemed to be random locations, listing towns over a 1,000 miles away.

P.S. What makes it even more "authentic" is the picture of Deven is from a set at FTV. Wonder if that's copyright infringement?

It is sad what these companies will do to make a buck. I am sure that if you click the link and join, they earn some revenue.

I wonder how many door bells have been rung behind Red Lobster by peeps believing that a porn star is just around the corner. :dunno:

Sad that they can even access our IP's to personalize the link when we click on it. Damn glad FO's does not pull that shit.

They're a shitty site (AFF) for doing this. They've been doing this nonsense for years. Yet still, people who don't know better (the same people who actually think they can get free Playstations or Xboxes or iPods by clicking a link and completing a survey) actually think these are "local women" near them and join up hoping to get to know the women. It's crap.

Years ago I used to chat using Yahoo chat rooms. Suddenly it was like living in the Matrix - bots invaded and started sending messages and even PMs in chat (I'm sure they still do this, but I haven't used Yahoo chat in a long time). Insane. Now they're (the computer programs/spammers) doing that (adding comments to posts/entries) to blogs as well, since blogs have exploded with popularity.

The bots might not be machines actually roaming the streets out there, but they're completely infecting the information superhighway with deceptive marketing... Bastards! :thefinger

I signed up for a free account on ICQ a long time ago, and immediately started getting spammed. I didn't even use the account, told no one, so obviously ICQ or someone that worked there was taking addresses home. I complained and received the same form letter, don't give out your ID, etc. On the 4th try complaining it finally stopped. Then it happened another time with Yahoo. Set up the account, and was immediately spammed having never used the address at all. I got onto a newserver about spamming and this guy jumped all over my case because I implied Yahoo, or someone working there was selling addresses. The next day, people were arrested at AOL for selling email addresses for some 200k new accounts. It wouldn't be news to me if Yahoo employees were grabbed for the exact same thing.

Nothing however is worse then telemarketing phone calls!

I know what you mean. At least the other things don't wake you up when you’re trying to sleep. It is bad when a device that is used for personal communication is utilized for marketing.

A Do-not-call list was in effect by the Direct Marketing Assn. in Farmingdale, NY long before Bush publicized it a few years ago. I was getting calls sometimes 5-6 times a day and more when I moved to a new address. Getting on the list stopped that almost immediately.

You can register on line for the FTC list at;

https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

As to marketing via personal communication devices, the next big thing is companies texting/SMSing your mobile phone with ads. You get a text message and choose whether or not to watch the company's advertisement on the LCD of your phone. Can you just imagine having your mobile device getting a bunch of expensive (unless you have a plan with unlimited SMS/texting) text messages that you never solicited? :thefinger :ban:

AT&T now Cingular did exactly that. They call it service messages, and try to sell you additional pay services on your cell phone. I was furious. Driving along and the cell phone bleeps you with a text message, you pull over OR, try to read it while you're driving and it's a cheery :) advertisment from my friends at AT&T!
! I had a bad time getting them to stop, and they finally did, when I suggested if it causes me to be in an accident while driving, I am going to make sure my attorney brings it up in court when I sue your ass off.
