Brown has just announced that this coming Wednesday (09/09/09) he will predict the winning lottery numbers live on Channel 4, minutes before the National Lottery is shown live on the BBC1.
Lottery organisers Camelot are happy about the stunt, claiming it's merely an illusion. "It is impossible to affect the outcome of the draw and Derren Brown is not suggesting he is doing this," they said. "He is an illusionist creating an illusion that he can predict the numbers."
Nevertheless, Channel 4 has ****** Brown from buying a ticket himself. The pot currently stands at a less-than-illusory £2.4 million. Two days later, in a follow-up programme, Brown will then reveal to the nation exactly how his prediction works.
