Anybody catch Diamond Dave on the radio? He’s no h.s.—and that a good thing! By choice, I have heard very little of the h.s. show, and out of curiosity wanted to see what Dave would do, and I must says I was astounded by his intellect, his wide-array of experiences and his blunt views on the entertainment industry that far too many other persons of similar status would much more cautiously rely upon reciting the company line. Also, quite contrastingly so in comparison to his predecessor, David Lee treats his guests (only 2 so far) and callers (many, many) with respect, and his views on culture, politics, popular entertainment are far from the depraved, nihilistic whining that listeners formerly had been bombarded with during this same time slot.
Anyone who hasn’t heard him in action should check this show out. It is surprisingly enlightening and educational as well as being very entertaining.
