Captain Jack: Tell me a little bit about Dava Foxx.
Dava Foxx: I grew up in New York, born and raised in Yonkers. I moved to Florida to go to college and I went to Central Florida. I graduated from UCF and moved down to Miami and lived the party girl life for a while. I moved back to New York, Manhattan specifically, and worked for United Health Care for a couple of years. I was based off of Wall Street. I also worked for Hooters for 10 years. Hooters was always my backup job. I always kept them around because I always made money there. I was in their calendar, I could pick whatever schedule I wanted. I was with them for so long that they finally promoted me to management and marketing. I actually moved out to California for Hooters. They moved me out to LA to open up a downtown location. I did that but I hated it.
CJ: Why did you hate it?
Dava: Downtown didn’t bring in the best customers and a lot of the girls that worked there didn’t live up to the Hooters standard. It was like no Hooters that I had ever worked at. That location didn’t follow any corporate rules and when I went to that location it was like a culture shock.
CJ: When did you lose your virginity?
Dava: I lost my virginity when I was 16 to this douchebag. I don’t even know why I slept with him! He treated me like a Princess, gave me flowers all the time but it turns out he had this girlfriend that he was dating for 5 years. She eventually found out. So my first sexual experience wasn’t the best.
CJ: After you got the first one out of the way, were you promiscuous?

Dava: I’m going to be 33 in April.

Dava: I worked in the front office. I was the one who signed people up. I was the middle person, basically. Once you got approved, I was the one they dealt with.

CJ: So you were in LA, how did you make the jump into porn?
Dava: After Hooters, I worked for Tilted Kilt. I was managing for them. I was working for Playboy at the time too. I worked for Playboy for about 5 years. While I was working for Playboy TV, I ended up getting drunk on the show. Playboy supplies guests with alcohol on their shows. And I ended up having sex with this guy on TV. And the guy just so happened to be a porn star. Ryan Driller was the guy I hooked up with on the show. When it aired, I was humiliated. I made the biggest mistake of my life! I can’t believe I did that! It wasn’t even a porno but they made it look like it was a porno. So I did another show, (laughs) and I ended up drinking on the show as well and I ended up hooking up with someone again. After that, I thought it was a pattern. CJ: Who’s that second person you hooked up with?
Dava: He changed his name to Richie Black. It’s weird because Playboy TV casts porn stars on some of their shows. I worked for Playboy for years and I was the only non-porn star on the show. It’s almost like they recruited me. (laughs)
CJ: Were you ever in Playboy magazine?
Dava: The regular magazine sometimes does college issues and I was in one for UCF. I think it was about 2006.
CJ: If you were so humiliated, why did you go back a second time?
Dava: Because the second show was nothing like the first one. The second show was a reality show and I was a judge on the show. Basically, they give you a one-on-one session and none of the girls hooked up with the guys who were judges except for me! (laughs) So my episode, it looked very, very good. (laughs) I made that series entertaining.

Dava: No. When that happened, the directors were like ‘Oh my God, this is not a show like that! We don’t have that!’ I thought they would edit it out but they didn’t. We did it on the show and they blurred out some of it.
CJ: You were also on some reality shows?
Dava: Yes, I did Millionaire Matchmaker and XXX Intervention, that comes out on TBS. I did mostly dating shows.
CJ: How long have you been in it now?
Dava: Since May of last year. That’s when I shot my Brazzers scene.

Dava: The crazy thing is, no. I didn’t watch porn before I did porn and I was the girl that got mad at my boyfriends for looking at porn. I laugh at those girls now. I think about it now and wonder why I ever did that!
CJ: What does your family think of your decision?
Dava: At Thanksgiving, my dad confronted me. I was home for the holiday and right before I was to leave, my dad decided to tell me that he knows everything. CJ: What’s your favorite movie?
Dava: Goodfellows and Casino, I’m still trying to figure out which one is my favorite.

Dava: I like Shameless and The New Girl

Dava: Definitely chicken parmesan.
