Dad raped one of his daughters repeatedly & kept another locked in a room for a year

I don't believe a trial is needed, put him in jail, let everyone know what he did. Let him get raped for about a year then murdered.

He's messed up those poor kids for the rest of their lives. And I'm sure there's someone out there who will defend his piss-ass life saying that murder is unjust.

Just remember, he took a child, a child that trusted him and raped her and imprisoned another. We are to protect our children and he violated that.

The really sick thing about this?
Statistics show that victims of Paedophiles are more likely to become paedophiles.

This is why I am in favor of bringing back castration as punishment for rape.

Dock his cock and that'll make him real gentle.

Ok, here is something I don't understand (well, besides ALL of it)...

This asshole had other children, one of which (at least) was 19 years of age - which is plenty old enough to 'do something' about the rape. Yet, nothing was done? I don't get it. If I had a sister and my father was raping her, I'd protect her as best as I could. I wouldn't be like, "Well, at least it's not ME in there, HYUCK, HYUCK, HYUCK"...I'd do SOMETHING, you know?

Did any part of the story say or even indicate that the 19-yr-old was thinking "Well, at least it's not ME in there, HYUCK, HYUCK, HYUCK"???

The reason you or I can imagine doing something to make this abuse stop is because we weren't "raised" by this deeply sick individual. Someone who grew up with someone like this was probably damaged in major, fundamental ways - ways that might not be comprehensible to those of us with standard notions of what is right, wrong, normal, etc.

Part of that damage might've been a deadening of some aspects of self-preservation instincts, or any impulses resembling compassion.

A lot of damage can be done in 19 years. For that matter, I have to wonder what this guy himself might have experienced before he started reproducing.

I don't care what kind of upbringing a child has. At 18 or 19 years of age, you know that if your father is raping your sister, you should do something to stop it. And, if you don't, you are no better than your rapist of a father.

two words: Fucked Up

These stories pop up from time to time. Wasn't there a dude in Europe somewhere that kept his daughters locked in a room for most, if not all, of their life? I wanna say Ukraine, but I can't recall.

You clearly have no understanding about the abuse cycle. Now I don't know the exact situation, but the abuse usually starts out with mental and emotional control, using fear and threat to control the victims. Children are groomed as they age in these situations and in alot of cases, usually end up brainwashed, and constantly living in fear. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the father probably told all of his children that if they tried to stand up for themselves or their siblings, he'd kill all of them and their mother. Any child (and yes, when you're in that kind of a situation, you ARE a child at 18 yrs old) would probably rather endure the suffering than see their loved ones killed. The children were afraid, and were mentally tortured...and usually, the mental torture is harder to endure than the physical.

I'm speaking from pure experience here, not talking out of my ass. This kind of shit is exactly why women don't leave abusers, why children who are abducted don't try to speak out and get help...they're threatened and beaten down emotionally until they feel they no longer have a voice. So this 18 yr old that didn't stop it - he/she is a VICTIM of abuse, and most definitely NOT on the same level as the abuser.

this is pretty much dead on...it takes a lot to bring people out of that state after it's over too and in more serious cases and/or if the victim doesn't haven't a latent mental strength inside of them they never can recover...a lot of people are innately afraid of conflict and as such will endure heinous abuse for fear of inciting the rage of the abuser(s), even though that is inevitable anyway...eventually certain people will have enough and snap, but that point is different from person to person and in some is unattainable...people adapt and accept their reality and even find some sort of comfort in the status quo, despite it being miserable and often escape able...this is how social classes are possible, how slavery is possible, servitude is possible and exploitation is possible. because people will endure and accept what is happening to them for fear of making it worse

It's called Stockholm Syndrome ... more commonly associated with kidnap victims (to the public), but it's very common for a (severely) abused person/child to be very defensive and protective of their abuser, as the abuser takes a position of total power and control, the victim comes to rely on that control and domination to give their life both order and protection.
