The PS3 plays BR discs which is great, and it has the ability to be updated which means it's the best BR player on the market. Unfortunately Netflix for anyone with a decent internet connection means Blue-Ray is pointless.

WTF?!

Netflix doesn't stream in HD so how is Bluray pointless?

If you want a service that does, download VUDU on PS3.
You will need a dl speed of at least 2.5 mbps in order to stream at least 720p movies. The selection isn't as vast as Netfix, but they are getting there.

They also stream in 1080p with 5.1 digital surround, but you have to be downloading at 5.0 mbps,if memory serves.

I own both, but I've been anti Sony for years and I concede PS3 dominance. It's the better system, better interface, better exclusives, free online with no dip in quality from 360, blu ray player, quieter and looks nicer in your entertainment stand. If I had to give one away, it'd be my 360. I already cancelled Xbox Live :)

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
I don't how good Live is, but PSN is pretty decent.

LIVE is great, for the most part. Of course it better be since everyone who plays on that is paying 50 bucks a year, fuckin ridiculous. I've had more experience now with PSN and I feel it's stacks up pretty well to LIVE. Only difference being that very few people have mics which is a blessing and a curse. There are very few shit talkin punk ass kids who have mics to piss me off. But for games like MAG where communication and teamwork are essential to victory, it's sucks.

My 360 died and I'm perfectly happy with my PS3

I've played both before I chose which one to buy and I prefer the PS3 over 360. I liked the controller better, lower problems reported, and the fact that it is a Blu-Ray player to helped

I have both and I can't pick a favorite , I have great games for both systems and since I have the xbox slim it's as quiet if not quieter than the PS3. So for me it's a draw.

my 360 has a holiday in Germany when it dies, then it comes back all brand new.
Its been a long time since one died on me though.

Never Played on PS3
Even though its free
the games are not for me

£3 per month for live is not a lot really, it costs people more each day to smoke

Both have their merits...

I got a PS3 ages ago purely because it had blu-ray and blu-ray players were selling for a similar price to the whole ps3 system at the time.

I have owned and played both the PS3 and XBOX 360, and I would have to say the PS3 is the way to go:

The Playstation 3 is great because it has free online, chordless network capabilities, great exclusives, blu-ray dvd playing capabilities, great hand-sized controller, and the ability for games to be in HD with an HDMI cable.

The XBOX 360 is a great system from their great exclusives, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, plus Gears of War 1 and 2, soon to be 3, amongst them, and being able to play games in HD if you have the adapter switch.

Trying to play my 360 online was usually a hassle. You needed all of those chords, and if the internet was a four star quality cable modem, things would lag, because it had to be five star instead. Another thing about my 360 that I hated was how loud it was when it ran. I had to turn my TV volume up loud, just to get over the loudness of it running. Plus every once in a while a loud grrring sound would come out of it, like it was getting ready to die right there.

In my opinion, the PS3 is the way to go. From its blu-ray playing capabilities to its great exclusives, free online, and chordless network capabilities, I think the PS3 is a great buy.

The hardest thing for me to wrap my head around was when someone said the games on the 360 looked better on that than the PS3. I would have to disagree. Having played both the PS3 with an HDMI cable, and the 360 with the HD input, I have tried: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2, Resident Evil 5, Just Cause 2, and Saints Row 2 on both the PS3 and 360. In all the times I played the games on both systems, the PS3 version always looked better.

PS3 Plays 1080P MPEG Video files...
So High Definition MPEG Porn.....

I'll stick with my gaming PC machine. It tops both PS3 and Xbox on performance, with a quad core, ultimate overclock at 30%, 16GB of RAM, EVGA GTX590 3GB Video, Asus X79 motherboard, 2TB 7200 RPM HD, LG 12X Blu-Ray Rewriter, LG 23" LED Monitor which sometimes I'll switch to my LG 42" LED television by s-video and BAM! Game on!

consoles are for pussies, I honestly can't believe they still sell those things :/
