Playstation 3 has a lower fail rate.

what the fuck you lookin at?
I'd go with PS3 myself. It plays blu ray and is superior hardware. However the PSN isn't as solid as xbox LIVE. But then again, I've had limited experience with the PSN as I've just recently switched from xbox to PS. But the few games I've played online with the PS3 I haven't had to many problems with. Red Dead and MAG are both solid. Black ops, had issues, but that could have been the COD servers. I'm really not sure.

It really depends what type of games you prefer. Most multiplatform games are superior on the X360. Read Dead, Fallout, COD, are usually better on the X360. Sony has a great deal of exclusive games that make the PS3 more desireable like Little Big Planet, Mod Nation racers, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, etc. X360 has it's fair share of exclusives as well like the Halo series, ***** series, Gears of War series, etc.

The PS3 plays BR discs which is great, and it has the ability to be updated which means it's the best BR player on the market. Unfortunately Netflix for anyone with a decent internet connection means Blue-Ray is pointless.

Both systems have a different take on thier motion control crap. Move vs Kinect. I'm not paying extra for something I could do on the Wii 3 years ago so I'll leave that subject alone.

Figure out which games you prefer, what controller you prefer, and whether you need the system to double as a BR player and base your descision on that. The X360 no longer suffers from a large failure rate, that's well in the past unless you buy an old used system. Both have roughly the same performance from thier ancient processors. In an ideal world you could just get both, but that doesn't always work out.

I've got both but I'd say PS3 is better. Though bear in mind, as the poster above said some games are only available on 1 or the other.

I'd only own one console out of principle and mine's the xbox 360. I don't play online yet so can't comment on that and unless you're gonna be a hardcore gamer probably any console would suit you although I'd only recommend the Wii for inexperienced gamers who want to just pick up and play or for those with ****. The PS3 does have the Bluray player but you can pick those up for cheap nowadays anyway and I absolutely love the xbox 360 exclusive Gears Of War series.

360 has great library of games as does PS3.

There are advantages to both systems. Plus I never been a one system lover.

360 has Gears of War, *****, Halo, Crackdown, Dead Rising, Fable, Dead or Alive, and others I cannot think of. Downside is the pay to play online. But that is where the...

PS3 comes in. PS3 has Ape Escape, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet, Infamous, SOCOM, Resistance, and Uncharted.

Not to mention all the multi-platform games. If you want online with one game get it on PS3, if you want a game to just play go with preference, and simply enjoy your video games.

The 360 also has exclusive DLC for certain games (such as TR Underworld). Up to you in the end.

i've got both but i hardly play on the 360 anymore as i find that most games i buy are for the ps3. saying that some of the games that are exclusive to the 360 are just amazing.

I don't how good Live is, but PSN is pretty decent.
