Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
I can't remember them all, but...

Genesis x 4
Yes x 3 (once in the round)
E.L.P.
The Who....for their FIRST farewell tour
Frank Zappa
Jethro Tull
The Musical Box x 6 ( a tribute band that recreates Genesis's older shows)
Charlie Daniels Band

I'm going to see "The Musical Box" again, on Thurs. They're doing the "Selling England By the Pound" tour.

I also recall seeing...or should say, found ticket stubs for.... Judas Priest, James Taylor, Ian Hunter, Elton John, Deep Purple, Simon and Garfunkel, Asia, Peter Gabriel, and a semi acceptable version of Pink Floyd.

Some of the best concerts I have seen I was too young to really appreciate them.

My top 5

Led Zeppelin (May 30 1977)
Lynyrd Skynyrd (before the plane crash)
KISS (Destroyer tour)
Pink Floyd (Animals Tour)
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Beck (Atlanta)

A bunch of other good ones. Too many to list.

I saw them in sunrise. And I didn't count how many songs they played exactly but the concert was around 3 hours long.

Cool website, I haven't seen it before. Yes! They didn't play reptile during the show you were at? Its one of my favorites from them so it was awesome to hear it live. Hurt was great too except for some drunk idiots cheering during the entire song instead of enjoying the depth of it.

Was King of the Board for a Day
Just out of curiosity, other than the sound being good, was the show visually appealing? By that I mean was half of the band in the dark half of the show? I ran a spotlight for them 2 weeks ago when they opened for Satriani. Their LD was this young kid who I think was on his first tour, and he had no idea what he was doing. Firstly, he had 4 spots, but decided that he only needed 2, so there were 2 guys in the spot booth who literally got paid to sit there watching the show while the other 2 of us worked. Fine, whatever, it wouldn't've mattered if the lighting was designed to actually see the band. However, he had no front wash of any kind on stage, so the only members who were visible to the audience were the singer and the guitarist because they were the 2 that had follow spots on them, and the lights had no color gels, so they were lit by a dull, plain, stark white light, which is about the most visually unappealing thing you can do. Before the show, the guy told us that it would be very mellow and self explanatory, but a song and a half into the show he informed us that being on com annoyed the fuck out of him, so he was going off headset. Problem is that when you're the LD and you have spotlights you must imperatively be on headset calling the show, otherwise the spot ops start freelancing and fuck up your show. The whole point of having a touring LD is so there's someone traveling with the band who knows the show and makes it look good every night, as opposed to having someone who doesn't know the show trying to pull it out every night. So long story short, even thigh the band sounded great, visually it sucked donkey balls because the guy in charge of making it look good totally dropped the ball and not only left the band in the dark, but didn't use the spotlights in any way which might've improved the visual aspect of the show.

Funny you mention it; I thought the show seemed dimly lit, but I was willing to believe that it was because they were also in a smaller setting and wanted it to be somewhat more intimate. I didn't have fantastic seats so I thought nothing of not being able to see certain members at certain points during the show, but I'm now bummed that I hear it could've been remedied. I did notice that they only used, as you put it, "a dull, plain, stark white light", but I didn't know if the setting would've allowed for a setup of more than that (I'm sure you'd say so, but I don't claim to have any knowledge of being a stagehand). It kind of sucks that hearing all this now makes me go back and nitpick parts of the show that you say could've been better, but I'm still pleased that I got to see them, even if the quality of the show was unfitting of them.

nah, no reptile for me. that's always been one of my favourites. that and eraser. on my wishlist was piggy and the hand that feeds and he played them. here's our set list.

and yeah, i had some dumb wench behind me singing along with hurt really REALLY horribly. that's one of my pet peeves is when the crowd starts singing over the band. i cant think of a more inappropriate song to sing over the band than hurt. that's just not one of those songs.

copy of a was really awesome, 1000000, fuck all of them were great. hearing terrible lie and head like a hole was sweet too.
