Do you collect comics?

I'd like to see a forum or subforum.

Anyone?

I checked yes but what I mostly collect/read now a days are graphic novels. Batman, Superman, Marvel's Ultimates line. I have tons of comics that I bought in the past but they are all put away and protected. I would like to get the Witchblade graphic novels because that was a comic I used to read a lot. I stopped buying comics in single format because it got so expensive. I used to go to the comic shop every week looking for new ones and it hurt my wallet.

I dont have many comic books but i like to get the trade paperbacks that come out every once in a while i have Ultimate Spider-man vols 1 til 16 and The Ultimates vol 1 and 2 and The ultimates 2 as well as Essential Captain America vols 1 til 3. Also V for Vendetta and the Halo Graphic novel.

BTW i clicked Yes

Buying comics weekly does take a toll on the ol'wallet. I suggest buying subscriptions or looking online for discounted comics.

What else do you collect? You too, superspawn.

I have a massive collection of Spider-Man comics, got from my big sister. and a couple of TNMT comics.

I'd like to regularly buy comics, but there's just not enough value in it for me. I can buy three songs I like on iTunes for the average cost of one comic book that's only 22 pages of story, PLUS ads. Once they discover digital distribution, I'll be all over that, but as it is, it just doesn't make sense to spend the money.

A forum would be cool, though. Why not?

I kind of like comic books, but I don't really read them anymore, and I have never been much of a comic book collector.
Except for The Walking Dead. That one I buy whenever the trade paperbacks are released. I don't really care for monthly issues.

The trade paperbacks are fine. I buy a few for the extras and so I don't have to mess up the single issues.

I'm going to find them cheaper online and buy a few subscriptions. Buying comics weekly is pricey.

It's good to be the king...
I used to, but got disillusioned with the genre awhile back.

I always wanted to buy Xombie: Dead or Alive, the graphical novel. I also used to love reading Preacher.

I worked at a comic store about 14 years ago, had alot more time to read them while working there. Haven't really touched them since.

I collected comics from the age of 9 to the age of 16. I used to have the first 47 issues of Spawn still wrapped and unopened. I also had a near complete set of Spiderman, X-Men, and a pretty respectable collection of The Punisher. Then the house we were living in caught fire and I lost everything. I didn't have the heart to start collecting again. :bawling:

To this day, I kick myself in the ass about those 47 issues of Spawn. I was buying that comic before anyone even knew about it.

I used to collect comics but stopped in the mid 90s. They were getting too expensive and the industry was starting to get stupid with gimmicks and other things. Like all things it seems they were trying to cash in as much as possible and the stuff that made the comics great started to become secondary to them so I just lost interest and never returned.
