This is more political than sports related so I posted it here.
Well within his rights if he chooses, but if he really wants to take a stand, turn down the paycheck that comes from a league/team in this terrible country or donate it to black people.
I never liked this motherfucker anyway.
Fuck him.
From the government. Just like that Duck Dynasty guy could be suspended and numerous ESPN pundits have been suspended or terminated because of their commentary without penalty.Quick question to our resident legal scholar: Was the 1st Amendment written to protect individuals and groups from government oppression or private oppression? A private company or league like, say, the NFL can mandate certain behaviors and decorum without penalty, amirite? Did those shitheads with the S̶a̶i̶n̶t̶ ̶L̶o̶u̶i̶s̶ Rams (Ha!) get in any trouble when they came out like morons with the false "Hands up, don't shoot" narrative?

The 49ers could suspend him but they won't unless this really starts to create a backlash.
He picked the right market to play in if you are gonna create a **** storm.
Getting tired of the "1st Amendment only applies to the government" canard.
Secondary rulings have made it clear that freedom of speech can be considered imposed upon by individuals or non government entities as well.

Yeah, yeah, well take it up with framers. Secondary rulings are not the issue. The discussion was the framer's intent.
There's a reason they don't prevail with litigation.

No you are a liberal and if you had a spine, you wouldn't have voted for his highness Obama as you did twice. Don't put all the French in the same bag, not all are of the same breed.

Colin Kaepernick is a douche for sure
His intentions are grossly misguided by his interpretation that the anthem is representative of the US government. It clearly is not....rather, it is representative of the nation itself....its people. For what he perceives as the oppressive actions of the authorities and government, he condemns and disrespects all of the people who live in our great nation, including himself and those whom he claims are being oppressed. Ironically, his weak attempt to bring attention to bigotry is incredibly bigoted by its very nature.
