Coca-Cola Super Bowl Ad: Un-American?

Apparently I'm a redneck for pointing out that LBJ wasn't really very altruistic. Wait, what? The quote is directly and accurately attributed to LBJ, so wouldn't that make him the redneck? Personally, I think it's hilarious when people who cry "racist" or "redneck" when they see something they don't understand utilize racist terms to express their ill-formed position.

And since you were dumb enough to bring it up; Obama will be the last minority president in America for the foreseeable future because he's fucked things up so badly. Which is a shame because I'd love to see Allen West or Dr. Ben Carson run in a national election. Or Collin Powell. I have no hatred for black people, just black culture.

And I'm sorry I let that assclown take me off topic, as well, Jagger.

"Although in the south, being a Republican immediately after the Civil War was all but *******." OK, Democrats... so I am right; please, pick one.

Wow...it seems clear you are nowhere near as smart as you keep trying to pretend to be...I suspect some 90 proof behind your mental condition.

You accidently hit that one on the head...you spent all that time confirming your unsteady take on history, while confirming pretty much what I said is close enough correct.

You...just went 360 degrees, and stated what I said (but using a shitload of unnecessary words)...good job dufus.:rofl2:
Hear that sound? It's that ice you mentioned before cracking under your unsteady feet...better jump.

The proposed 18th Amendment was supported in roughly equal numbers by both parties in the House: 69% of Democrats and 68% of Republicans. It was mostly southern Democrats...blah, blah, blah...

Keeping in mind that nowhere did I say no Repub had anything to do with anything, just like the whole Senate voted to do the Iraq War thing but the Demotards and Libbies have no problem laying it at GWBs door; I stated what I stated as it is correct...all you did was create some foggy thought in your pickled mind and use it to faux refute what I said. Repubs AS WELL were supporters of Prohibition...but the Dems owned the anti-minority hatred thing and that's not negated by any twisted take on history you overpontificate about.

Trick works well on low info voters and thinkers , but it's glaring and obvious to myself and others with over 100 IQs.

"The Ku Klux Klan was about race and culture, not about political parties. " OK, not political. I (and the Discovery Channel) are wrong.

I seriously doubt that the Discovery Channel made any of the foolish assertions that you have made here. But if they did, then yes, they are also incorrect. But we both know that they never did, and you're just making that up or you couldn't properly comprehend what they did say.

"Although in the south, being a Republican immediately after the Civil War was all but *******." OK, Democrats... so I am right; please, pick one.

Pick one what? What are you even talking about? Jefferson Davis was a Democrat. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. Lincoln was hated in the south after the Civil War. And the Republicans were hated in the south after the Civil War. Many southern Whites lost their voting rights after the Civil War and White (northern) Republicans installed Blacks into positions of power. As I pointed out by listing several prominent Republican Klan members, the Klan was not 100% Democrat (as you plainly, but incorrectly claimed). It was a group that took up the supposed cause of White Anglo-Saxon Protestants. In addition to Blacks, they didn't care for Jews, Catholics or immigrants of any stripe. And neither the Democrat Party of Jefferson Davis nor the Republican party of Abraham Lincoln has any real or philosophical connection to either of the modern political parties of the same names. David Duke was a Republican. These days, many, if not most neo-Confederates are Republicans. These are historical facts, Philbert. What is it that you do not/cannot comprehend about this? Why do you insist on making a monkey of yourself by claiming things that we ALL know not to be true???!!!

Wow...it seems clear you are nowhere near as smart as you keep trying to pretend to be...I suspect some 90 proof behind your mental condition.

Philbert, honest question: what do you believe these childish little quips do for your factually incorrect positions and statements? Seriously. As for my intelligence, I'm not nearly as bright as many of the people who post here. But you're not one of those people, hijo. Sorry.

You accidently hit that one on the head...you spent all that time confirming your unsteady take on history, while confirming pretty much what I said is close enough correct.

"Close enough correct" about what exactly, Philbert? What were you pert near correct about there, buddy? The part about the Klan being 100% Democrat or the part about the Republican sponsored Volstead Act being a Democrat ploy? Yep, you were thiiiiiis close to being dead on the money, Philbert.

You...just went 360 degrees, and stated what I said (but using a shitload of unnecessary words)...good job dufus.:rofl2:

Uh Philbert, you do realize that a 360 degree move would not move me one iota from my original position, right? Draw a circle, and think about where 0 and 360 (both) are. So no, I most certainly have not said what you said... any more than the Discovery Channel has ever said what you said or Bozo the Clown has ever said what you said. Only you have said what you said. The cheese stands alone.

Hear that sound? It's that ice you mentioned before cracking under your unsteady feet...better jump.

I'm rather surprised that Commander Potato hasn't weighed in about some sort of conspiracy behind this.

Not answering this. Will waste the original topic about rednecks over reacting somewhere on the net because America the Beautiful was not sung all in English.

Hey, dickface, did you see my original post in which I wrote that I thought it was a nice tribute to the melting pot and ? It degenerated from that into whatever quagmire of bullshit you're complaining about later on.

There are far more egregious incidents of multiculturalism to be up in arms about. I actually thought it was a touching tribute to a country that used to be open to pretty much anyone until them damn Mexicans ruined it for everyone else.

I've never watched a Tyler Perry movie because he's not funny or particularly talented, just well connected.

"A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags." - Bill Clinton referring to candidate Obama in 2008.

“He ran a gas station down in St. Louis... No, Mahatma Gandhi was a great leader of the 20th century.” - Hillary Clinton

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." - Joe Biden on Obama in the 2008 democrat primaries.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes *****, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who ******* us for our own good will ******* us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C.S. If I need to explain the significance of that quote just let me know.

I missed the 10 min. deadline so excuse me for bombarding this thread.

There's a stupid scene in the movie Pay It Forward where a black guy smashes out a store front window and steals a boom box or tv (Stereotypes-R-Us) and some old lady helps him escape the police and get away with BURGLARY in the movie creator's idea of paying it forward. That's how many on the left treat minorities and blacks in particular. Just lower that bar and excuse bad behavior or poor performance. It's not the overt racism of say, the KKK, but it's more insidious.

I fear that the thread is drifting farther and farther away from the intended topic (and yeah, I've had an oar in my hand too!), but is your point that there are racists among the Hollywood liberal elite? I would not disagree with you at all on that. But I'm not sure that one can claim that the limousine liberals in Hollyweird are (truly) representative of people on the left, any more than country club Republicans represent working class people on the right. As a very wise acquaintance of mine said many years ago, "some of the most racist people I know are Black. Some of the most sexist people I know are women. Some of the most religiously intolerant people I know are Jews. But none of that excuses the people, who are not members of those groups, from being racist, sexist or religiously intolerant."

And while I'm not accusing you of attempting to cover up a wrong from one group with one from some other group, (back to the spirit of this thread) I would say that no person or group of people is perfect. It's obviously foolish for someone to claim that a racist **** group has only been supported by members of one particular political party... especially when the facts of history show otherwise. And it will ALWAYS be possible to find a member of some group who has said or done something wrong or improper. Since it is a simple fact that more than a few of the writings of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America are in Latin (a foreign language, last I checked) and a great many of our national symbols have Latin writings and terms on them, perhaps it's not wise to say that to sing a song in various foreign languages is un-American. Cause if that is un-American, then we need to dig up ol' Tom Jefferson and ask him what's with those Latin writings that I saw when I visited Monticello many years ago.

Dickhead, Okay!

lbj great society was meant from years of african americans living in poverty to get a helping hand to get them digintey in the land of plenty, public housing as a starting point and to a point where they can get a steady job to achieve not the american ***** with the mall society today but more comfortable living for their families.

you and philbert keep bitching that the democrats where the racists.okay lbj said lets change, but the south went to the carptetbaggers and the north after busing flew to the suburbs taking the wealth of the city with them leaving the minorities nothing.

no offense however with redneck with the melting pot thing you mention. so true as we are all americans and the quagmire exists because we are a cheap society that has slowly gave no opportunities to the minorities by shipping jobs oversea lead by the great wal mart.

the rest is **** including the florida guy who should of just used rapport, wait for his wife to come back and go home. It wasn't like the **** camped outside his home and party.

At least one true (honest) statement from Ray Ray...plus more ripe and smelly BS.

You missed a lot of stuff when you went on your cut'n'paste binge...funny how it is you seem to miss facts that actually confirm the specific info I post, and shows you as the cherry picker you are on facts...you got bored and came looking for a "fight" to **** some time, right?
Here's some stuff you missed...

"The Klan sought to control the political and social status of the freed slaves. Specifically, it attempted to curb black education, economic advancement, voting rights, and the right to bear arms. However, the Klan's focus was not limited to African Americans; Southern Republicans also became the target of vicious intimidation tactics, and a wave of 1,300 ******* of Republican voters in 1868, was primarily a political purge rather than a racial conflict. The ******** achieved its purpose. For example, in the April, 1868 Georgia gubernatorial election, Columbia County cast 1222 votes for Democrat Rufus Bullock, but in the November presidential election, the county cast only one vote for Republican candidate Ulysses Grant."
Rank and file were all Dems, but you did mention some Repubs (how many, 3?) that agreed with the Klan...still doesn't change the fact that the KKK was Dem created, Dem in political bent, Dem in action and racist to the beginning and end.
The 600 lb Gorilla in the room wherever a Dem is , is the history they bring of racism and singleminded hatred of freedom of speech, religion, political affiliation...and today it is merely a different colored ******, same jackass as before.
Now, they are here to help us find our way in the (Dem) world...

Don't forget the wetbacks and chinks!

Yes, someone (PBS, TLC, Discovery) ran a long show exploring the Klan, Prohibition, and the rise of the Mafia (with thanks to the KKK); you stated you don't watch those Channels, probably cuts into your drinkin' time.
Wow...racking up quite a collection of wrong statements and misinformation...:*****:
Don't matter, you do have some lame sayings (like that "cracking ice stupidity") that don't rival H. Ross Perot but could if you just tried.

Gosh, you really are a truly special kind of stupid, aren't you? Are you even able to get the days of the week right without help? Seriously, dude. Most people, once it becomes apparent that they don't know **** from shellac, will just let it pass and keep walking. But no, not our Philbert. He has to put his ignorance and stupidity on display daily.

I'm going to put this to you one more time, you pathetic, talking, clueless chimpanzee: you claimed that the Klan was 100% Democrat. Whether I gave you 3 examples or 3 million examples, assuming you made it past 2nd grade math in school (which I am not convinced of!), ANY example I gave you of Republican members of the Klan destroys your foolish and incorrect claim that the Klan was 100% Democrat. The Klan (especially the 1st KKK) supported Democrats (in the South) because it was Republicans who kicked their asses, burned their houses down, freed their slaves, put them in prison and took away their voting rights.

And it doesn't matter what sort of lies and misinterpretations you ***** up from what you (may have) watched on TLC, PBS or Fox News. Nothing that I said here was incorrect. That you are too simple to comprehend it does not make it incorrect. That you continue to make the idiotic claim that the current Democrat party has meaningful social/racial ties to the Democrat party of the 1860's, or even the 1920's, completely amazes me. But, why should it? I guess you really are just that fucking stupid.

Again with the cracking ice come-back? Still putting on the act that you possess any amount of wit, are you? Did it truly bother you that much? Get over it already. Or don't. Either way :dunno:

P.S. When have I ever said that I don't watch PBS? Just curious as to how you managed to get that wrong too? PBS is one of the stations that I said I do watch and would be willing to use a digital antennae to continue receiving when I **** DirecTV later this year. You just can't get a damn thing right, can you? How do you survive out in the world every day, man? Really!
