There's a helicopter in the sky, follow the car that way. He slows down and does not feel like he is escaping and the risk is lowered.

I've never understood these car chases, Nightfly, so much risk, usually so much damage.

:2 cents: Chases are a always a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. I've been in my fair share and have totaled 2 cruisers. I won't chase for simple traffic violations, but at some point you have to.

I think if you watch the tape closely, you can see several cops almost getting hit by other cops in their cruisers. I bet that the captain wasn't too happy at the station about how this was handled. It looks like some of the police could have gotten really, really hurt by their own fellow officers. I'm no expert, just an observer using common sense. I don't think any criminal is worth chasing if ur going to kill a cop while u do it.
