also, dr pepper has a small point within his otherwise shitty post. there is a strange disconnect with the consumption of meat and feeling bad for animals in general.
im not a recruiter, and i have no problem with people eating meat, in fact, i believe they were put here to be consumed (in a respectable, responsible manner though), but there is some irony in that whole thing.
as ive been off and on as a chef, you tend to look at food and the people who eat your food differently. a lot of people, including myself, do get disturbed when you really look into how animals are treated in their quest to become dinner. we are so detached from where our food and meat comes from, its just weird. we see meat as meat, not really knowing where it came from and how it got there. its all cut up and stocked at the store all nice like.
we should have some knowledge of how it came to be on our plates. thats what im saying. eat up, for gods sake eat up, but we've lost our respect for food and animals for sure.
