Will they be selling stuff in bulk lots?
Damn, I just bought that Hitman 3 pack just in time for Playstation 2. I bought it day before yesterday and was expecting to pay 30 bucks for it. I was surprised when they rung it up 20 bucks. I will be sad to see Circuit City go. I never cared for the Best Buy we have here. The managment pretty much sucked in Best Buy and was very unhelpful to me when I had a problem.
No they will not. At least not in the stores at any rate. The remaining merchandise will be sold to other companies once the liquidation is over.
I went to my local Circuit City yesterday, wanting to see if they had good deals on computer monitors - I want a nice big one. It's not surprising that they're going down the tubes considering that there were lots of shopping customers and the staff didn't seem interested in any of them. They were chatting loudly with their friends about non-work stuff the whole time I was there. I walked around for about 20 minutes, hung around some things I could have been talked into buying, probably, by an attentive sales person - no extra discounts going on, but the prices were low. But instead, I just walked through and out without buying anything. I don't know how I would have bought anything anyway giving how disinterested the staff was in selling anything.
Two things in their defense :
1. Your a bit early the liquidation sale has not started yet or even been announced.
2. If I was out of a job, you bet your ass I would be one of those disinterested staff.
I plan to research the items that interest me by going to the store, get sku number's and compare with other stores & online retailers so when the sale starts I know if it is really a good price.
Nope, definitely not. Once they price matched an MP3 player for me but the guy gave it to me for $50 less than the store they were matching...
No deals even now. They will jack up prices first usually and then have 40 percent discount. Not on everything especially if off brand or unpopular but just research first.
I hate Circuit City and Best Buy. I prefer Fry's and websites like NewEgg.com.
Fry's sells motherboards, cases, components, video games, music, and PORN. Really. Also lot of employees but they leave you alone unless you ask for their help and then they help you. Also order online and pick up in store and you can get really good deals.

Too bad there aren't Fry's all over the country, I have heard so many good things about it, buy have never actually seen one.

I really shop online and when I do go to a store I know exactly what I want and rarely talk to a sales person.
BTW the sale started today but that same site has a new post stating that it might be better to wait a while.
Fry's is hit-or-miss, there are 2 in my area and I'm not so sure they give that good of a deal. The salespeople are pimply faced kids with wrinkled white shirts, most of whom have low people skills.
That must just be your area,because the Fry's in my area owns.As a matter of fact,I just came from there about a half hour ago.
