Cheney to Pass on Convention

Cheney might not attend Republican convention

Doubts are increasing that Vice President Dick Cheney, one of the most prominent Republicans, will attend the Republican Party's national convention.

Cheney's press secretary, Megan Mitchell, said Tuesday that the vice president's schedule had not been set for September. Delegates are set to meet in St. Paul, Minnesota, from Sept. 1 to 4.

Cheney has low approval ratings and is widely regarded as a secretive, behind-the-scenes power broker. But his approach plays well to conservatives. Democrats are working hard to link Cheney to the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, Senator John McCain, mindful of his unpopularity with the general public.

Cheney = pariah in all republican circles. Who can blame them? He's the Darth Vader of the Bush administration.

Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker.

Thanks for that bit of information :hatsoff:

Its probably a good idea that he stays away, surely an indorsment from him would lead to a drop in the polls by 50 points, or at least it should. McCain is probably praying at night that none of the Bush administration are going to show up.
