Cheney In Favor Of Gay Marriage

I hate to keep giving attention to this guy but we've heard more from him in the 4 months since he has left office than we ever did when he was acting as the Rasputin of the Bush administration. He's in the news again today, this time spouting off about "freedom for everyone" and how he supports the right of gays to marry:

Amazing when a societal controversy hits home as it so plainly does regarding this issue as it applies to Cheney's lesbian daughter how it can affect your line of thinking. Anyone here really think that ol' Dick would be so open-minded if Mary wasn't gay?

Short answer NO.He is kinda stuck with that position due to his daughter.I wonder what his wife has had to say on the matter.She was fairly public and may have said she is OK with her daughter I just am not sure.

The guy had 8 long miserable years to support gay marriage & did absolutely nothing & he & his wife even denied or ignored the fact that their daughter was gay.

He & his party vehemetly opposed gay marriage ,but now that he is a hapless old man with no power & nothing to lose politically he comes out & supports gay marriage.:dunno:

The OP was right we shouldn't keep giving attention to an impotent old man who is trying to salvage any semblance of decency for his wretched legacy.

Yeah, right on. If I were his (gay) kid I don't know whether I'd laugh or cry. Probably, I'd do both simultaneously. The man endorses the idea only after he's out of power (and has substantially less influence).
